Overnight trip to Rock Pond. Not a trip for novices and am glad that Dave has a great deal of paddling and backcountry experience. It's a tough paddle against the wind which is always there on Little Tupper going in but much easier coming out with the wind at your back. Lots of carries over beaver dams and there is one carry, short but with plenty of rocks so be ready to unload your boat.

The benefit of the daylong trip to get in and set up is that for peak season (end of July) in the Adirondacks there was only one other person on the pond and we had the premium spot (The Island) to ourselves. Did some fishing and there were pike and bass, did not hook any of the native brown trout.

Dave made great meals including homemade Parmesan and garlic biscuits from his wife and I got some great general fishing tips that will be a help in the future. He had all the gear and I had my own large and comfortable tent.

Great trip for an experienced paddler that wants to do some backcountry fishing in a remote and beautiful spot. Dave is a very experienced guide and you will enjoy your trip.

Note: I would recommend this (Dave told me this beforehand, it was my schedule that would not allow it) as a two night/three day trip so you have a day in the middle to rest and concentrate on fishing.

You will never fail to have a wonderful day out hunting and fishing with Grasse River Adventures. Started the day with David hunting turkeys. I have never met someone more knowledgeable about turkeys, from turkey calling and to how the turkeys move. After turkey hunting we went fishing. David will teach you how to fish for the local trout and how to find them. He is very knowledgeable about the area and animals and fish of the area. David is also conscientious about caring for the fish, water and the woods surrounding the area. I had a great day. Grasse Rivers Adventures is a great experience and I would highly recommend anyone and everyone to check out and experience the Adirondacks with David.

We booked a guided hike through Viator and drove to NY from VA for the experience. When I contacted Grasse River Adventures to confirm the day before the scheduled hike. I was told that there was no record of the hike and that it couldn’t be scheduled. The owner, personally, handled the issue with impeccable professionalism. Mr. Burnham secured me a guided tour with another company and compensated me for the change. He followed up to make sure I was able to give the first time hike experience on the day scheduled. David Burnham’s Grasse River Adventures is five star service.

Herman Thank you for the great review. The issues with Viator has been addressed, and shouldn't happen again. I'm glad we were able to find you a replacement trip. Let me know if I can do anything for you in the future.

*Likely to sell out: Based on Viator’s booking data and information from the provider from the past 30 days, it seems likely this experience will sell out through Viator, a Tripadvisor company.
