The first time we have ever had to 'get a boat to a boat' but that just added to our experience. The harbour has a swell so the larger boats have to stay a little way out and you get a launch to your trip boat. David ferried us out and we sailed with Lucas, both excellent and put you instantly at ease with their knowledge and chat. You can choose to seat at the back or on the top, wherever you prefer. The crew are fantastic, with lots of information about your trips and its possibilities. You get drinks and snacks included the the half day trip and lunch too in a full day trip. We were lucky on the day we sailed with Lucas as he had his mum on the boat and had specially booked the humpback whales to appear that day !!?? We were winding him up about how the trip would have only been a 1 star if his mum hadnt been on board, but we might stretch to 2 if we saw whales. And yes even writing this I do realise there will be people who believe that it is possible to book 'wild whales' to appear on demand, so please dont complain if you arent lucky enough to see them. All in all we couldnt have asked for a better experience, both with the crew and facilities, and the general 'chilledness' of it all and the sights we were lucky enough to see that day. Great half day trip in the afternoon. We went pretty far out to possibly get to see whales and dolphins etc. That was a good start. Later we got really lucky. We had about 5-6 sitings of whales probably all humpback whales. Amazing and very exiting. Twice big tails diving. We also had a "Hello" from a huge turtle sticking his head up and then diving plus fly fish. Jens and his side kick skipper were fun and telling sail stories etc. Cold beer, snacks and just a great afternoon and sailng trip. I will definitely go again. Perhaps on their new catamaran.
