There are clearly posted public skate hours, the ice surface is perfect, and the 400 metre loop allows for a lot of room. There is a heated area to change into your skates and rentals are availalble.

We came prepared with our own skates but you can rent them here as well. The hours for free skating are posted on plain white paper in size 10 font on a bulletin board, not exactly clear but it’s available nonetheless. We arrived when they...More

We were a bit confused at the beginning of our exploration of the Ice Rink. We had read that there was a tour, but we were able to walk right in and didn't see anything about a tour, just a bob sled simulation. But, we...More

We visited Lake Placid for a wedding this summer. My husband, being a huge hockey fan, wanted to tour the 1980 and 1932 rinks, situated right across the street from our hotel, and I, the agreeable wife, decided to take the tour with him. The...More

Admission to this was included with our Olympic Passport. What struck me the most was how simpler and smaller the facility was as compared to today's Olympic games. This complex was very accessable and walking thru it, you felt like an actual participant in the...More

There was no cost when we skated at the 1932 arena. They had music playing and Santa show up. It was lots of fun! If the outdoor oval is open definitely skate there.
