First - word of caution - GPS sent Uber driver to the backside away from entrance. The entrance is at the “Y” in the road and had no signage - simply a long path heading directly towards pyramid.

Short Uber ride (and cheap) from city center - area is a bit rundown but felt safe (although houses are all behind high fences and thick steel gates)

The path has been very nicely paved (they were still working on the plants along the edge)

Sign in on the visitors book and a gal instructs you on path to follow and warns you not to climb on the pyramid.

At that point you are free to wander - no guides or docents - simply plaques explaining things (Spanish only)

Visit takes 40 mins - 1 hr

I wobbled back and forth between average and very good - I would have liked to have seen more about the time is was built - how it was built - what they did there - and would have LOVED to climb it (if they are worried about erosion - have a path up the unexcavated back side)

But it was still COOL to see

Was very excited to check out my first Mexican pyramid, but only found out it is closed after a cab ride out there. Check first! We will have to come back another time. My friend went a few weeks ago and said it was super cool!

Nice, small archaeology park not far from centro. A few scattered buildings and a nice pyramid make up the site. Lots of construction at entrance, right now you have to park on road adjacent to park and walk up dusty road about 200m. Looks like site museum is about to open soon as well. At this point you'll need 30-60 minutes or so to see everything. Nice to see improvements coming.

Okay the signage stinks and I wish there was more to explain history. But it’s like food you don’t need to be chief to know great food

This place is absolutely amazing and makes you think. The methods used to construct should be used today. This place stands strong and will for many more years.

Go see it.

Beautiful structure and surroundings. Fascinating history. I lucked out and had a personal guide (Leticia!) that was knowledgeable, spoke english very well and was very accommodating. You can take the #65 bus to the site; a nice ride through a variety of neighborhoods.

If you have some extra time then take taxi to El Cerito. After nice walk you come to small, well preserved pyramid. It is nice and peaceful place. Don't forget your sunblock and cap.

make sure you go there, since it is a one-of-a-kind place: a Toltec site with a pyramid that has a house on top. You don't need a lot of time, and it is a very interesting site to visit, not only if you're an archaeology enthusiast, but if you want to see a particular mix of cultures.

This impressive pyramid receives very little attention. While the signage leaves much to be desired the pyramid is definitely worth a visit. If you don't have a guide you should probably do some online research before arriving
