Arrive early. Before 9 am. Else park at the end of the rail trail and hike the 1.5 mile in. Beautiful view from the platform. We hiked to lower level. If you have physical limits, it can be a challenge. 181 steps, somewhat steep. If you are generally health and able bodied, you can do it. Wear hiking boots. Once at bottom, dont miss the path to get to the second level. Amazing photos from there. We hiked the rail trail (out and back). Nice walk in the woods. Gets crowded as the morning goes by.

Part of the lower falls can be seen from the Highway. Continue on
Down the road some to get to the upper falls. Great look out at the observation deck. I did walk the extra .01 of a mile…,believe was called the Integrity path .. something like that, that lead off the observation path. It runs along the top of the falls. It connects to both paths (the longer trail to bottom of falls path). Trail does have some incline but nothing too bad. Well worth the stop.

Huge disappointment. I drove over two hours to get here. I wanted to hike the trail, but the parking lot was full. The line to wait was over a mile long. I wound up turning around and aborting that plan. I went to the viewing platform, and the river is all dried up.

Our two families visited the falls on a very hot day in August. Fortunately, we went earlier in the morning before the crowds appeared. We didn’t take the inspiration point trail, which in hindsight was a mistake. It looks like an easy walk to a platform overlooking the top of the falls.

The hike to the upper falls was beautiful---some stretches of the path were easy but others challenging. Be prepared to walk both up and down many steps and slopes! When we reached the top falls, we enjoyed the beauty of a waterfall cascading into a pool of inviting water. Several hikers took a cool swim on this over 90-degree morning. Because the steps going down to the lower falls looked treacherous, we decided not to venture down. Signs that warned hikers that deaths occurred here were an extra deterrent.

The falls are beautiful from vantage points along side but the best view is from the highway. BE CAREFUL.

If your out of shape do not hike to the lower falls! It’s a great view but it’s a killer getting back up. Just do the viewing platform.

This is a wonderful trail - well worth the effort to get down to the large, multi-tier waterfalls. Its a short easy trek to the overlook - which lets you see water fall shooting out of the top of a high ledge to a pool below. However - if you are able - keep going on the trail down to the bottom, where you get to see the whole waterfall, feel the water, and scramble over the rocks. But be aware - its a lot of steps and a pretty strenuous hike down and back up again if you aren't fit. Be ready to take some breaks on the way. Also - there is a warning sign that says how many steps there are - but I counted and it substantially underestimates the total number from there down and back up again.

Also - be prepared to share the experience and the trail - the waterfall is popular so you're likely to be sharing it with quite a few other people. Still - parking was easy enough for us when we went on a Thursday.

Gorgeous. Not like Watkins Glenn but beautiful nonetheless. Went with with two teenagers as well
as <10 year old child.
The trek down to the lower falls is about 0.5 miles and 20 min or so. Pretty rocky so you have to be extremely careful. Coming back is steep, takes bit more, about 30 min at leisure. Take tons of water. Given the rocky hike full of pebbles, unsure if less than 8/9 years old could do this comfortably.

Great place to hike and it is not that strenuous to see such an amazing site. We parked at the Rail Trail lot and it is about 1.5 miles in to the break off trail to the falls. You can certainly park at the Laurel Trail Head which is way closer. Either way so worth it.

It was a tougher walk due to the icy weather. The park was in good shape. The frozen falls were spectacular. Take your time. I recommend grippers with micro spikes on your shoes.
