Great family fun. The facilities have seen better days but the staff are very friendly and the horses are very well mannered and very well taken care of. You can choose from a variety of option from 30 minutes to El Kapitan Falls trip

The place needs sprucing up, but then again its being run by a non profit wildlife group. The staff were very nice and patient when teaching, and the horses are even tempered and well taken cared of. Highly recommended for lessons. I didnt take the tour though.

Due to road closure had to take the long way around to get to this place. It must have been very nice back in the day but apparently since the Americans $$ left it has become rundown. Only two ground keepers now and the grooms for the horses. They do their best but does no good due to floods and lack of funds. The horses are exceptionally well trained and in good physical health, better than any rental stable horses I have ever seen. I once owned horses so I know what I am talking about.
Prices are reasonable. Took my young kids for 30 min ride, 550P for double riders. If you have ridden before and can handle 1 hour in the saddle, the waterfall ride should be nice.
Sadly heard that the land has been sold so it's only a matter of time before this place closes. So please go soon and tip well as they are overworked and under paid.

The place was really beautiful with the stables and horses. We felt like we're in a hacienda.
The horses were in good condition and in great shape. I highly recommend availing one of the horse-back riding package they offer. You get to ride these magnificent horses, and at the same time the fee would serve as your donation to the upkeep and maintenance of the horses.
For those who prefer not to ride, the place is instagram-worthy. So it's still pretty good to visit the place once you're in Subic.

I was missing my horse back home so my husband's family brought me here. The horses were all on good shape, hooves in good condition and the facility was as clean as you can reasonably expect a stable to be. it was $1200 pesos for 2 of us to go to the waterfall. I am an experienced rider, my husband is not so his guide lead his horse. The tack was English and in good shape. They provided bicycle helmets, which is better than nothing. They have more offerings than just the trail if you only want to ride in the arena. The horses were all Thoroughbreds so a good size for almost any rider unlike at the Taal volcano where the horses were small.

This is the first stable that I've been to, and frankly I'm kind of hesitant to give it a higher rating only because of the presence of many flies. Other than that, I'm quite impressed with the spacious stable, tall and big horses running freely, and dogs around as well...

Beautiful stable / farm. Felt like it was a setting for a movie with the mountain as backdrop. Horses were huge and looked healthy. =)

El Kabayo (EK) was already one of the R&R activities of the Americans during the time of the US Naval base. Now there are 21 horses in EK and some of them are part of the mounted patrol division of the SBMA's Law Enforcement Department. El Kabayo Stables is managed by Wildlife In Need, an NGO that specializes in animal care and welfare. The beautiful grounds of El Kabayo are the perfect venue for photo-ops: horses grazing in the background, or your favorite horse posing with you, pre-nuptial, anniversaries, graduations, reunions, family celebrations, and many more. And of course, one can go horse-riding for one hour or more at 700 pesos++ past the river and falls nearby. But we didn't get to do any horseback-riding because it wasn't open till 1:30pm when we got. But now that we know the schedule, we will definitely come back for this, and expect a fun-filled afternoon here.

At first, I thought that Zoobic Safari would be our main attraction, but proven wrong by my kids and lo and behold, El Kabayo Stables will surely be a staple now in our Subic Bay trips.
The place was picturesque and the large area was refreshing in the mid- / late afternoons when we arrived. We were greeted with pleasant smiles from the hosts as well as the trainers there who would eventually be our guides.
Although a bit on the pricey-side for leisurely horseback-riding in PH, it was worth every peso, especially since you will appreciate the quality and beauty of the stables and, of course, the horses. Well-groomed, clean thoroughbreds in a pristine location. You can take the 1-hour leisure ride around the stables and not feel like you would have been going just around a fenced area.
I had my 4-y/o take the stable ride while we took 2 horses to the waterfalls trek. This was hitting two birds with one stone as we intended to seperately spend time at 'El Kabayo Falls' and did it in awesome fashion, it turned out. The 1-hour trip to/from the falls offered the experience of riding outside the stables, through the current roads and onto the trails leading to the falls. Once there, our guides gave us ample time to explore the falls, take pictures and take the different trails back and forth. On the way back to the stables, they let our horses trot / gallop on the way back to the sheer enjoyment of my kids - another plus and some things you don't get to experience too often in horseback rides in Baguio and Tagaytay.
Back at the stables and at the end of our trip, we were not done! My kids had a blast at the tree swings set-up and we almost spent another 45-minutes just running around the stables, playing on the swings and the rope bridge.
While this was part of our itinerary, no one thought this would be the most enjoyable and memorable of the places we set out to visit in this visit (and may definitely be a staple now in our Subic trips).

There's no entrance fee as long as you will ride a horse or do a photoshoot/prenup. If you'll not do activities, the entrance fee is php100/head.

My wife has never ridden before.
I have. Are there horses that are really patient?
Do you operate in September?

I am not much of a rider and I fear falling off a horse. However, I felt safe because each horse has its own guide. I just told the guide to make the horse walk slowly. Yes they are open whole year round except when there's bad weather.
