Place is easy to get to, clean and quiet. Offer a place to BBQ. Has a small cafe, clean bathrooms, showers, and parking lot. Good for an easy day at the beach when you're not in the mood to battle the crowds at the Bronx...More

You're going to enjoy this park immensely. The tranquility is exactly what the doctor ordered after a tough week. There's also a mutual respect between park goers.

Stayed here one night. Very hard to find in the dark. No services, just peace and quiet. Bath and showers a bit a on run-down side, but clean enough. Traffic noise in the background, but for being so close to NYC, it was amazing.

There are so many mixed reviews about this park. I have been to State and National Parks all over the country. I believe I have an unbiased view. Fahnestock is a beautiful location, not far from NYC. The foliage and rock formations are gorgeous. I...More

There are plenty of things to do year round at Fahnestock. You can also bring your dog with you while hiking and picnicking. There are groomed cross country trails in the winter and across the street there is a small beach-front lake to go for...More

Ok...i understand it's a lifeguards job to keep people safe. First, the swimming area is miniscule ..ridiculously so. There should be a larger area for adults who want to swim in water that's not full of children's pee and excrement. The lifeguards are constantly blowing...More

This is a very well-designed and maintained Nordic ski center that we have somehow managed to overlook for years. Had our first visit there yesterday and it was great. Very challenging trails and beautiful terrain. We will definitely return.

I don't think so. There are no stores in or immediately near the park. The camping areas are nice and I think there is at least one ranger-like station in the area, but they don't sell anything. And I don't think there is... More
