Not a huge museum person and tend to pick and choose which ones to visit, would generally rather be outside walking around a new city, town, site etc. Don’t skip looking inside the Musée Gallo-Romain, you won’t regret spending the extra time here. Items are...More

Le Musée Gallo-Romain is very impressive: the building is modern and spacious. The artefacts are displayed in the best possible conditions. As a frequent Rome-traveller, I can safely say that this museum would be an asset to the city of Rome! They have made the...More

Visited during 'free time' in the course of a group river cruise. It's across the Pont de Lattre de Tassigny, a 10 minute walk from the main attractions in the town but very well worth the effort. A large open-air site to explore with a...More

Beautifully presented Roman artefacts, marble inscriptions, mosaics. Pretty short of Rome the best I have seen. Interesting concealed in the hill beside the roman theatres but with a couple of apertures that overlook the remains. Very goof audio guide. Allow a couple of hours

This Museum offers good insights how People built and lived Vienne twothousand years ago. Very impressed by the size of warehouses and amount of trade, which did bring a lot of wealth to this part of the Roman empire. Highly recommend to go through the...More

This museum (both indoor and outdoor) displays roman era mosaics, wine jars and remains of warehouses and pavilion. The mosaics are particularly nice and detailed. You can get an audioguide in different languages. There is a dedicated parking lot.

I love architecture!!! The Musee Gallo Romain was full of real, local artifacts. You won't feel overwhelmed. It's just the right size and if you're feeling cooped up inside you can easily walk around the ruins outside. It was very similar (on a smaller scale)...More

Comprehensive museum of Roman ruins and mosaics. Incredible models depicting structures as they would have been in the 1st century. Expect to spend the good part of an afternoon taking it all in. You will be exhausted, mentally and physically, but it will have been...More

We were on a river cruise and our boat moored at Vienne. It's a small town and the attractions are walkable from the centre. There is a train station but I don't know what it connects to. I suggest you look online.

The Vienne museum is bigger, with an emphasis on mosaics. Much easier to park a car, too.
