Overview
More
Far Flung Adventures has been safely outfitting family and group river trips for over 40 years. We have run commercial adventures on dozens of rivers around the country and the world. With that said, these days we like to concentrate our work here in New Mexico, because this is the land and the people we care most about. The northern region of New Mexico offers access to unprecedented southwestern scenery and landscapes, and there is hardly any better vehicle for exploring that beauty than via one of our two great river systems. We are located in Taos, NM which provides easy access to the finest New Mexico rivers. The best rafting in the region can be found on The Rio Grande at the bottom of a beautiful gorge, or on America's Newest Wild and Scenic River, the Rio Chama. The fun starts shortly after ski season, as the snow begins to melt, providing excellent river conditions during runoff and throughout the summer.

I spent three days and two nights with Far Flung Adventures on the mid Taos Box section with the fine folk at Taos Fly Shop fishing for trout in the Rio Grande River.

Excellent from beginning to end. Christine was our guid and she was absolutely amazing. Very professional and kind. She was enthusiastic and encouraging. She also gave us an awesome history lesson about the area. We can’t wait to go back again.

This rafting adventure was truly one of a kind. While it began less than three hours north of Albuquerque (near Taos) it was both on a wild and scenic river, and included sightings of wild sheep. Guides were excellent and all equipment in top shape....More

I have some back problems but still wanted to go rafting. The guides were extremely accommodating to AVOID the rough river thrills as much as possible (Still at my own risk, of course!) on the calmest of the local rivers, the beautiful Rio Chama 1...More

We do the Taos Box trip almost every year. Far Flung is by far the best; organized, friendly and knowledgeable guides, and hands down the best lunch on the river. Won't raft in NM with anyone else.

We enjoyed our rafting trip. The river was pretty low,so it wasn’t real exciting. Our guide was excellent, but I forgot his name.
