Visited during the candle festival. The statue was much smaller than I thought it would be. The candles showed amazing scenes and were really impressive.

The monjument to Thao Suranaree sits in the center of a rectangular moat that I think may be once been part of the city's defences. Behind it are the remnants of the old city wall and the Chumpong Gate, and on top is a guardhouse,...More

There is nothing to see here except a statue of Ya Mo (famous in Thai history for tricking Lao (not Burmese) invaders who had captured Nakhon Ratchisima in 1826, and buying time for the Thai army to launch a counter attack and drive the Lao...More

The fact that this is “#2 of 28 things to do in Nakhon Ratchasima” (as at the time of writing) says a lot about Nakhon Ratchasima. If boredom is a sought after commodity for you, you’ll find it in spades in this city. Sorry Nakhon...More

There is not much to see, it’s just a statue on a plateau. No big deal for a western tourist. However, it is of (great) importance to the locals. They were all praying there. If you read about the history of this statue, it’s a...More

Small square in the city centre dedicated to local hero, people come here to pay respects. Best to look at it from nearby two story coffee shop.
