I had seen some good pictures of the Living Room so I had an idea of what I expected – and I suppose my presumptions were coloured by years of visiting up market hotel lounges with music. But the actual Living Room caught me by surprise from the moment I stepped out of the lift.
The Living Room is on the seventh floor, the lift whisked me up there: then, as the doors opened, I was in the space. I expected some kind of entrance or corridor but instead the lift doors opened barely eight feet from the circular bar. And because the bar is circular my first impression was of a circular room – in fact it is square. The lighting is very well done – it is functional, in that one can see, but the overall effect – particular the moving light display behind where the band stand - really adds a new dimension to the area. The main decoration is pop art in the form of blown up album covers. It is amazingly effective. I have made up a small set of images of some of the albums used.
The central bar is comfortable with four video screens showing a music video - some going back to almost my youth. It is nice touch to have 4 screens so it can be watched, with comfort, all-round the bar – which is bad luck if, like me, you think TVs are for the home. The prices were not as avaricious as I suspected with local drinks and beer coming in at 90 pesos, imported spirits at 150 peso a shot or 3,000 a bottle. For those wanting to spend a little more Hennessy XO was 550 a shot and 11,500 peso a bottle. The champagne named after the monk who event the stuff was 9,900 peso.
There is a balcony that goes round two sides of the bar and that provides good view of the back gardens and yards of the area. I should think a nice spot to sit in the cool season.
In the published pictures it looks like the pool table is part of the main area – it is not. There is short passageway and a sliding door to the games room, with pool, and darts, and as you would expect it is much brighter. The videos played over the bar are shown there and there are more album covers – mainly of the Beatles but this time the right size for a 33 RPM long playing record.
The band who play 3 nights a week are Norter Best Duo. A strange name and I never quite found out where it came from. I was thinking of calling them lift music with attitude – it was an idea that hit me as I listened. They are very competent – he on keyboard and vocals, and she synchronises the drum machine and sings. Anybody who likes the Carpenters will like them – in the end it is easy listening music which is ideal for a lounge.
I liked the Living Room – I went there thinking I would not. It is an ideal spot to get away from all the hassle downstairs – I am sure if I was staying at the Queens I would have night cap most nights just to chill out after all the dubious excitement of Fields Avenue. And as it is only round the corner from Midnight Rodeo - thus an ideal spot to flee to when a drunken karaoke singers takes over.

The patio area outside gives spectacular views of the City, especially when there are fireworks. The bar is well stocked and reasonably priced and always has a lot of friendly company on hand. The lounges are a great place to unwind and plan the next outing in Angeles City. The adjacent games room has beer pong, great pool table and regular darts comp.etc Take on Ralph and Andy, who regularly play there.

Found this bar when I was looking for hotels in Angeles City. Went to check out the hotel and saw they had a lounge on the top floor. Very nice decor, low back sofas which were nice and comfortable. They have a separate room in the back with a pool table and lounge type chairs. In the main room they have hostesses that will sit with you if you choose to have company. It is a good place to go to relax and have a drink or shoot a game or two of pool.

On the top floor of the Queens Hotel which is my favorite little hotels in Angeles City. They have a good steak house on the ground floor and you can also eat up on the top floor in the Living Room. I like it for an early drink before you go out... or at the end of the night.

The title says it all. I saw The Living Room on top of Queens Hotel from my room at the Central Park. Curious, I decided to take a look; it was about 10 p.m. Queen's is a middle of the road hotel. The Living Room is quite plush. Problem was, there were 10-12 "entertainers" (bar girls) and a bartender, and nobody else but me. So, the "girl rush" began. I decided that, having entered the place, it would be impolite to just walk out again and ordered a Chivas with ice. The bottle of Chivas was directly in front of the bartender, and he still had no clue what he was looking for. I walked out.
