Yes it is the domestic tourism which created lots of problems and trash at the border so the authorities has to change the rules and regulations for the border area. For those who don’t like much crowed than better visit in Spring or autumn.

I went to khunjerab pass on day trip from hunza. its almost four hours drive from Hunza. an hour or two are more than enough to stay at this place. It was windy and cold even in first week of August.

Yes it is usually cold because it is about 4693m high above sea level, it is recommended to take warm cloths while visiting Khunjerab pass

It is open if you are visiting Khunjerab Pass from Pakistan side. If you are crossing it then it is not! it remains closed on weekends..
