Lily by Chris Daftsios

If you haven't been to the New Jersey Repertory Company in Long Branch, what are you waiting for!? The award-winning, professional, year-round, boutique theater rocks with its current production "Lily" a world premiere that has been breaking all box-office records. Only one week remains - but their new season starts January 9, 2020 - and if it's anything like this past season - WOW! Sex, Drugs, and Rock 'n' Roll! What some other critics have said about "Lily" - "A new and powerful play about the powers of love and hate, repentance, and revenge. It is a play with more emotional honesty in its first five minutes than in the whole of some other plays. It is a play that must be experienced". - Out In Jersey.com It's one of the best shows I've seen on the NJ Rep stage. It's fascinating, clever, freewheeling and unpredictable. "It might possibly be the debut work of a hot new playwright. Perhaps an heir to Sam Shepard, but with more laughs". - Two River Times

Voyager One

Went to NJ Rep last night to see the first preview of Voyager One by Jared Michael Delaney and all I can say is “wow” - well actually, I can say more. The production values in this boutique theater are spectacular. If you ever in Long Branch, NJ, look them up.

If you love theatergoing while at the beach, then definitely check out the New Jersey Repertory Company. We saw a phenomenal production of a world premiere play called The Source, and were thrilled with the acting, the story, and the intimate feel of this 60 seat theater. We come back every year and look forward to seeing the productions this great theater company has to offer. Highly recommended.

Definitely Going Back for More

Recently saw my first show at NJ Rep (Fern Hill). It was a great experience - the intimacy of the theater, welcoming staff and high quality performance are unique to any theater I've ever been to. Looking forward to returning for another performance soon.

Great local theatre
Feb 2017
My family and I have seen numerous productions at NJ Rep in Long Branch. The acting is first rate and the plays have covered the gamut from comedy to serious drama. Only drawback is the cost. A bit pricey for local theatre.

On ...of all places...BROADWAY...in Long Branch...i have been going there to see plays for many years now and I have never been disappointed...the friendly people who either answer questions/sell u tickets on the phone to the amazing staff who will greet you when you enter the theatre and show you to your seats...if I could give more then 5 stars...I would!

Just saw a show yesterday...THE JAG...besides the Housewives of Mannheim...which was my absolute favorite play there...(by the way...because of the success in Long Branch...it was later played in the Roundabout Theatre in New York where I went to see it again) JAG...came in on number 2 on my growing list of plays I see in the Long Branch Theatre.
All the actors/actresses are fabulous in their own way and are so talented...the theatre holds about 100 people...and because of the intimate setting...strangers become friends since a lot of guests mingle and talk about past shows or future events they are looking for....enough said...go check it out...you will not be disappointed!

Always a Treat!

My friends and I have a yearly subscription. Very reasonable cost for a night out of quality live entertainment. Review their web site for specifics. The actors, at times, are very well known and have been on TV and the movies. I guess that want to maintain their theater skills so they perform here. It is to our advantage. The theater is small. The audience literally sits within a few feet from the stage. If you go the first night of a performance the theater company offers a nice reception afterwards. Wine, cheese, cookies and a variety of other types of deserts. My only problem with the reception is that those who attend opening night are, for the most part, repeat patrons and not very considerate of others. It is like a buffet on a cruise line with the elderly that grab, grab, and grab, as if they will not eat again and make a terrible mess. If you are not the first to leave the stage area you will stand in line, which is ok, but once you reach the goodies you want to forgo the treats. Maybe the staff can dole out the goodies so that the hands of the patrons don't touch the goodies. The actors then materialize and greet the patrons. A nice touch. The executive producer a retired MD, greets all and is the host of the event. Truth be told some of the story lines are much better that others which is to be expected since the idea of the repertory company is to bring new plays to light. The actors are fantastic. All are professionals. The season is over with this performance. The next go around will be in January.
