If you plan on a wedding event, be prepared to get emails last minute that amenities will be closed. In addition, you will never speak to the same person. My guests and myself were charged for rooms not on our reservations and still 3 weeks later have not had the issue resolved, or a reply.
Also, caution with the Maitre D Mike who will hold a Bride and Groom hostage at the end of the wedding to shake them down for an extra hundred.

Where do I even begin.

Very overpriced. Not as advertised online.
Disgusting spa. Outdated hotel. There’s children in the spa area. The building smelled of mold.
The pools are small, the water looked dirty and they were very crowded.

The bed in the room was very hard! The shampoo in the shower took forever to wash out of my hair.

I mean I don’t understand how this resort has 4 stars. I felt like I was in a motel. I’d rate it 2 stars.

Dear Esther, We are saddened to hear about your perception of our beautiful AAA 4-Star Diamond rated resort. I did want to let you know that according to Top 100 Spa's of 2021: -Our Elements Spa is rated #1 in the whole state of NJ -Our Reflections Spa is rated #3 in the whole state of NJ These amazing wonderful achievements were awarded to us in late Jan of 2022. We would not have these ratings if we were deemed as "disgusting" and our many guest's absolutely love their spa treatments and find them both to be exceptionally clean, aesthetically pleasing, and an amazing place to unwind and rejuvenate themselves. We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy our beds as the vast majority of our guest's did. We do have some guest's such as in your individual case, who did not find great comfort in them and hope you understand that the firmness of bed's and pillows is a very unique and personal experience that is going to be different for everyone. Our Grand Cascades Lodge, surrounding grounds and landscaping are all meticulously kept up with to ensure that absolute best experience for our guest's and we are one of the few AAA 4-Star Diamond hotels in NJ. -Mike Guest Experience Manager

WORST “RESORT” EVER!!!!!! I’ve stayed at many resorts all over the world, and that statement is a fact. Came here with a large group of 20 as a co/worker team bonding weekend. We booked 10 of their most expensive suites for 2 nights through our company, over $800 a night which is totally ridiculous btw.

Apparently, our trip coordinator booked golf outings and spa days for everyone without our input on times. It was like you get what you get. I found out on arrival that I had a massage booked for 6pm the next night. Who the heck gets a massage at dinner time???? We had reservations for a team dinner at that same time. In turn, I had to cancel this. So, the next morning I went down to the spa and told them I had to cancel as we had a company team dinner at that time. They rudely informed me that they have a 24-hour cancelation policy and would be charging me the full $160 amount anyway. I was obviously very upset at this. I was never given a choice of times and was NOT told about any 24-hour cancelation policy. They could have cared less.

Skipping ahead to the next night, after a terrible dinner I was so disgusted with this place, even though I paid for two nights I wanted to get the heck out of there after just one. Upon checking out the front desk girl slips me the invoice for the massage in which they tacked on Sales tax, a Spa service charge, a CC convenience fee, and a $32 MANDATORY gratuity fee! The total was $218.60 for a massage I DIDN’T EVEN GET!!! Who the EFF collects a mandatory tip for a service not performed!?!?! Tips are only given for a well performed service! And btw, the people on my team who got the massage said it was terrible, it was not actually a massage but a light touch and rub. The masseuse said if they wanted more pressure they would get charged more. What a freaking racket! I was promised the manager would call me to discuss this and of course no one ever called.

So what else was bad you may ask? Well, everything at this place is WILDLY overpriced. The rooms (which are old and outdated) did NOT have any water bottles in them, or ice buckets, etc…NO ROOM SERVICE…so I had to go down and buy a water, and it was SEVEN DOLLARS!!!! Seven bucks for a bottle of water. Correspondingly, breakfast for two of us was $60 for a measly little egg and bacon, lunch was $70 for a terribly dry and burnt BLT, and dinner… OMG, they served me a steak that was well done and ICE COLD with potatoes that were hard as a rock. Literally inedible. The bill was like $200. That was the last straw. That was the point where I was like get me the eff out of here.

Other stuff, there are barely any umbrellas at the pool, so you roast in the sun. The super loud AC condenser in the bedroom blows air directly over your face all night so that I could not sleep and had a massive headache in the morning. Couldn’t figure out how to turn off the bed lights, no switch so I had to pull out the end table and unplug it. Jets in the pool didn’t work. Batteries in the TV remote were dead. They refused to light the gas fire pits at night. Kids running amok everywhere… I could just go on and on.

Another even bigger group from our company was supposed to go there next month, and we are making sure they change their plans. It will be a measly $30,000 in lost business to Crystal Springs, which they will probably care less about, but whatever. At least it something. Bottom line, don’t even think about this place. Seriously, look elsewhere.

We stayed in Minerals Hotel at Crystal Springs and felt like it was a completely different place that was advertised. Everything was disappointing from the rooms, the pools, to the restaurants. We spent ALOT of money and ended up driving to Warwick for decent food and to get out of that dump. The big pool was so cold it was unswimmable. Everyone was jammed in the small warm pool and you couldn’t move. There were no umbrellas for shade and the old, dirty chaise lounges were set up in muddy grass. The front desk was useless and understaffed. We had one dinner at Kites that took 3 1/2 hours. The food was awful. My son’s steak was inedible and it an hour for them to replace it with a burger. Dinner was $400 for 5 people. That was the only time we ate on property. We drove back and forth to Warwick NY for our meals after that. The walls were paper thin and you can hear EVERYTHING. And the beds are ridiculous. Like sleeping on a board with paper thin sheets. The entire trip from beginning to end was terrible.

Place especially pool area are run down. Most of the restaurants are not open. The ones that were, were horrible. Very expensive. Another place operating at about 50% but charging 200%. Advertised Minerals the “sister hotel” that is 3 miles away mind you, is more for kids and families. Crystal springs advertised more for adults. That’s a lie. Kids everywhere. Out of 4 or 5 pools you can’t make ONE for adults only??? I’m sick how much $$ we spent. Please don’t waste your money like I did.

Dear Karen, I'm sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay and would love to speak with you more - I can be reached at service@csresort.com. Please include your booking confirmation as I was unable to locate any of your reservation information. I did want to let you know that we are not advertised as more of an adult resort and families with children are welcomed to stay with us at either of our resorts which both make up Crystal Springs. We do however advertise that our Grand Cascades Lodge is a more overall luxurious experience and is rated a 4-Star resort whilst our 3-Star rated Minerals resort is more economically priced and considered by many to be more "family friendly" because of the amazing amenities and fun activities we offer. Having said this, both resorts offer packages that cater to many different types of guest's and what may be of interest to them. Please also understand, that is impossible to predict an influx of guest's with children however since we are in the middle of the Summer it is to be expected that there will more children on our resort than during other times of the year. Our restaurants and their respective hours of operation are also disclosed online for guest's who are determining when and how to plan their stay. Nonethless, we do appreciate your feedback and I do look forward to hopefully speaking with you at some point. Warm Regards, Mike Guest Experience Manager

I booked a wedding block for my wedding at Crystal Springs, a couple days before my stay I sent this email which gives a overview of my experience. I received NO RESPONSE.

Good morning,
My name is xxxxxxxx and I have a wedding block booked for this Saturday 5/21/22.
I need to communicate to you my undertaking with your hotel and staff. I have had the absolute worst experience in my life with Crystal Springs Resort, bringing me to tears several times. I wanted to bring to your attention the events that have led to this.
I originally booked a block of rooms about two years ago with my contact/coordinator, Nicole Lynch. In the planning of this, she reassured me that I would be able to get the amount of rooms that were needed for my guests. She recommended that I start telling my guests to book their rooms, especially if I thought I was going to have many people staying. My family and friends started booking their rooms over a year in advance to make sure their rooms were secured for the big day. Approximately seven months ago, I was told that Minerals was completely booked and rooms were no longer available. I was in shock, I was reassured several times that this likely would not happen so far in advance of my event. I had not even sent out my wedding invitations and was scared that my wedding day was ruined. My one aunt called to make sure her two rooms were secure only to find one was dropped. Even though she had her email confirmation for the rooms she was unable to get the dropped room back. She was told this error happened when they change their computer system in January. Many of my guests had no place to stay. I immediately contacted Nicole Lynch. I waited, and waited, and waited, for a response. When I finally got a hold of her, she told me that my guests and I were misinformed and reassured me that there actually were rooms in the block. I reserved the last couple of rooms that were in the block leaving no additional rooms at Minerals. This was the start of the many miscommunications between the wedding block team and the reservation team.
A guest would call to get a room with no problems. Three minutes later another guest would call and was told that there were no rooms available in my block. Three minutes after that, another guest would call and ask for that same room that was apparently unavailable three minutes prior, and got the room with absolutely no problem. It seemed as if it depended on who picked up your call in Reservations as to whether or not you got room. This was not only confusing because the wedding block rooms were blocked off specifically for my guests but made absolutely no sense and caused even more stress for me. Again and again I contacted Nicole Lynch to discuss reservation and obvious communication issues of the staff at Minerals and the undo stress it was causing. At 4-5 months prior to my event with my invitations not even sent out, the wedding block was booked. Mind you, my invitations state accommodations as Mineral. My guests had no place to stay. I personally felt like I was trapped in a contract with no way out. I expressed my stress and concerns with Nicole Lynch and she reassured me several times that they were doing everything they could to help get my guests rooms but no real resolution was given. Later on, I was told that I was moved to a different wedding coordinator Nicole Siliba. I spoke with Nicole who is very kind. She told me she would do everything she could and they extended the wedding block over to Grand Cascades. I told them I never really wanted a hotel block there for several reasons. It is to expensive for my guests and I would have to purchase an additional bus to get those guest to my venue. I asked if there was anyway they could match the price of the hotel listed on my invitation considering I was told my guest should be able to book at Minerals. This new larger expense of Grand Cascades was not what I had agreed on for my guests. I was told that there was nothing that could be done and this was “the best I would get.” This wasn’t any type of resolution at all. It felt like I was trapped with nothing else to provide for my guests. Guests booked at the overflow hotel and I waited and waited hoping that rooms would open at Minerals. After several stressful months of waiting, many tears shed, and only a week before the wedding, I was finally able to move all of the guests from Grand Cascades to Minerals. At this point I thought the miscommunication between your staff was over. I was wrong.
This week, my father called to confirm his reservations for rooms, one being the Presidential Suite at a discounted rate to help the wedding party get ready the day of the event. He was told by a reservations representative that his room was actually not at the promised rate and was approximately $615 per night, he was in utter shock. He was holding a room for another guest under his name but now had to hold on to it for himself in case this situation was not fixed. He was scared to release that room since the Presidential Suite was now $200 more than previously promised. Again, miscommunication with staff and unnecessary stress added to what was supposed to be a hospitable situation. I reached out to Nicole Siliba and Nicole Lynch. This was fixed right away by Nicole Lynch but should not have been a problem in the first place. I had to ask for a confirmation to be sent right away, which was not done until I had Nicole Lynch contact someone. Finally, my father received confirmation for the cost of the Presidential Suite. He was now able to cancel the additional room he was holding as backup. He called and was told that he was unable to cancel the room due to the seven day reservation policy. After pleading his case with the unsympathetic and rude reservation agent he was finally able to cancel the room. This whole aggravating situation was completely uncalled for. My father is a national event planner for xxxxxxxxxxx and has never experienced such lack of teamwork, management and hospitality by a hotel.
Now today I am 3 days out from my wedding and scared for another problem to arise. Many of my guests may all be at Minerals but due to my experience with this hotel it has tainted the entire wedding process for me. Even though I have around 40 rooms booked at Minerals, not once has anyone reached out to me to make sure things were running smoothly or offered me anything in addition. I expressed my frustrations and sadness to both Nicole’s multiple times so they were both aware how upset and stressful this process has been. I was just constantly told “this is the best I could do.” I felt bound to a contract I wanted out of but unable because my guests are counting on me.
My guests and I have had the worst experience. I am at the point where all of us are ready to express our horrible experience and disappointment on the reviews page and google reviews. I really hope that it does not come to this after their stay on Saturday.
Typically I would not send an email like this to anyone but due to my experience and how horrible this has been I felt that it is necessary to be brought to the attention of others. I honestly would have expected superior service and clarity from a hotel that charges the rates you do and the amount of business I have brought to you. I am just praying that my stay from Thursday to Saturday will have no further glitches.
Many of my guests will be arriving early for check-in and I was told by Nicole Siliba that I should be able to get my guests in early considering our buses leave for my venue at 4 PM. I really hope this is not an issue. It will be unbelievably upsetting if my guests miss the bus and are not able to make it to my ceremony on time. I hope that you will help to ensure my guests get checked in early and smoothly on Saturday so that they can make it on the shuttle by 4pm. Hopefully my thoughts about Crystal Springs will change over the next couple of days during my stay because currently I would never recommend Crystal Springs to any of my friends or family in the area, nor will they.

Thank you for your time,
xxxxxxxx

I also found out a couple weeks ago a couple that stayed in the room block we booked walked into a dump on the bathroom floor. :) good luck.

This was a deeply disappointing experience. We went for a lovely little getaway and experienced extremely poor customer service, very few activities, meh space, and pretty awful food. I would not recommend this spa. For the price and the distance from NYC, it's simply not worth it. Customers deserve far better, especially as people are beginning to travel.

Not worth the cost AT ALL. Hotel is underwhelming at best - has the feel, and smell, of a run-down motel. The sheets are too small for the bed and came off the mattress curing the night (ick). Housekeeping came by as we were heading out and asked if we wanted the room serviced and we said yes, but the ONLY thing done was replacing the wet bath at. The restaurant is expensive and barely mediocre. Pool was grimy. Both nights we were kept awake listening to music from wedding receptions. The spa was nice, though.
