Lovely spot in the woods - County a park at its BEST. Rangers are awesome!!

We shows up during the Ian Hurricane rain showers - Augh! Rangers moved us to a better spot - less puddles.

We so appreciated that. The laundry was great (all working). Need to get tokens from Rangers.

Wish I could have done more exploring but the rain kept me in my RV.

We camped here on a one night stopover while traveling south to North Carolina from our home on Cape Cod. After many hours of driving especially past the metropolitan area, it was nice to find a state park in which to camp.

Although it was early in the camping season (late April), about a dozen other campers were here, too. We can only imagine how nice it must be during the summer.

Our campsite was sizable and private, as the park is nicely wooded. We liked having a secure trash can and recycling bin at every site. The path around the bathhouse and the adjacent parking spaces are paved, so no risk of muddy feet after showering. The restrooms were clean. We took advantage of the heated laundry room to wash our dishes and catch a little warmth as it was chilly and windy during our stay. The staff patroled the grounds and kept everything in good order.

Turkey Swamp was a good place to camp.

Nicely maintained park with dock around lake that's perfect for fising with little ones. I recommend it - please keep it clean, I go back often.

I came here for an ultimate frisbee tournament. The park is beautiful; and looked to have playgrounds, horseback riding trails, a lake, and many well-sculpted playing fields. It's really magnificent.

What a great campground! From the minute we arrived we enjoyed our stay. We were in town visiting Family and friends, so the park was conveniently located. The park is close to shops, beaches and restaurants. We had a few get togethers at our site, so our family and friends could experience camping with us. The staff and Park Rangers were super friendly. I saw them helping many people throughout our stay, with a smile :) .. . The showers and laundry facilities were kept very clean. All the campers we met were very friendly and everyone respected the 10pm quiet time at their campgrounds. The ticks were very bad, but nothing you can really do about that. The only "issue" my husband had was the roads are very narrow and lots of pot holes, so take the extra few minutes and drive cautiously. The WIFI was pretty bad, but voice service was fair enough. We stayed in a 40 foot 5th wheel and the spot was surprisingly very big. We will be back for sure!

When we stayed, the playgrounds and archery were closed because of Covid19. The bathrooms/showers were being cleaned 4x a day and are closed for about 30 minutes (although they took pity on me and let me in once). You're supposed to wear masks in the bathrooms but most people did not (it wasn't very crowded).

We had a roomy campsite on the "A" lane on the north side. It was great because we had a view into the woods and it felt private; you can arrange your setup so you don't see anyone else. The downside is that you're about as far as you can be from the bathrooms, but it's only a 5 minute walk). Each campsite has an iron firepit and a grill (you can buy wood in the office), a post with a hook for hanging a camp shower etc., a big picnic table, electric, trash containers, and access to water (in some cases a bit far--bring a long hose. Each campsite shares a water post with two spigots). The ground is flat and sandy and easy to drive stakes and pitch a tent on. Quiet hours are 11-7 and people pretty much cooperated. Rangers drive around periodically.

The first night it was so humid that we would have "dew showers" where at first, you think it's raining, but it's dew coming off the leaves. Sites are wooded. We used Deep Woods Off and did not get any ticks (and hardly any mosquito bites). We enjoyed walking the trails during the day. They are pretty flat. It's a nice walk in the woods.

We were there Thursday and Fri. When we left on Saturday the campground was filled. I recommend that you reserve in advance, but you have to book a min. of 2 nights.

OMGoodness!! The stink bugs almost carried us away yesterday! They're everywhere! Yuck! Aside from these disgusting bugs,it's a nice park with nice trails, but be aware that it's bow hunting season and the trails are marked as such.

Turkey swamp park has a little bit of everything: boating, fishing, playgrounds, camping, picnic areas. We’ve been going there for over 35 years. Well maintained and rustic. ..a true gem in the middle of Freehold Township.

Rangers were extremely helpful and friendly. Got in a canoe with 2 adults, 2 toddlers and a dog in a life jacket. Paddled around in the blazing sun as long as we could stand. Then the kids hit the great age-appropriate playground equipment. Sat a bit in the shade of the lodge area to decompress (and contemplate a trip to Jersey Freeze) What a lovely park! What a lovely day! Don't forget your bug spray, sunscreen, and cash to rent a boat.

We took an hour drive to rent kayaks and enjoy a nice day in nature. The day was ruined when we walked to rent the kayaks and the ranger said Cash only. It would have been extremely helpful if that was posted on their website.
