This is a beautiful, moderately strenuous hike from Chesterfield, NH to a gorgeous summit overlooking Brattleboro. The history of Madame Sherri is fascinating.

There is a moderate, one mile trail that leads to Indian Pond, a magical isolated place. From there one can head west for one mile to the top of Wantasiquet Mountain that overlooks the town of Brattleboro, Vt and has a great vista of Southwest...More

We were not really sure what we were getting into... We read all kinds of stories about this "castle" on our way there. You don't really know you're there until the GPS tells you to stop. We didn't hike all of the trails, just went...More

A charming little walk up to the Madame Sherri foundation. The history behind the Forrest is fun and interesting. This location links up to a much larger network of trails in New Hampshire.

Yes, the ruins of the house are interesting and sort of spooky, but the hiking is the best part. We did the longer leg (1.5 miles) of the Ann Stokes trail going out from the parking lot and came back the short leg (0.5 miles)...More

There is not much locally available talking about this place, it is two miles down a dirt road. It is well worth the trip. The walk(not a hike) to the site is easy. It was easy to imagine why Madame Sheri fell in love with...More

Type "41 Egypt Rd. West Chesterfield, NH" into your GPS. It's not there, but that'll get you to where you can find the sign and the parking lot.
