Mountain was closed down for regular traffic to allow all ATV's with prepurchased tix to ride, in 2 sessions. What a blast!

Great views on this narrow winding road. The tallest peak in New England. We were dissapointed that the oberservatory was closed and felt we should have been told at the base but a fine time nonetheless.

I've been wanting to go here for years and I as we both wanted to take in the views we booked a tour up. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we felt safe in his more than capable hands on the very hairy drive to the summit! We had perfect weather, very rare for October, so we had beautiful views.

Ray was our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable, funny, relaxed and authentic. He was a great driver too which was a relief! The trip was beautiful and we all agreed that it was WELL worth the extra few dollars to be driven rather than to drive our own car. The summit was cold, so bundle up! But the view was spectacular and the whole experience was just wonderful. Highly recommend! P.S. Don’t skip the museum. It’s small but chock full of cool Mt. Washington history!

We took the drive up with Hans as our driver & guide. Very informative and entertaining. Lots of history once up and views. It did get chilly, around 40° once at the Summit. Make sure to see the museum. Really enjoy our 2 hours and not having to drive ourselves up. Roads are VERY narrow and lots of straight drop offs. Do yourself a favor and take the Van tour !!

The auto road is Dangerous. I made a U-turn a little over 4,000 feet. I was driving solo. If you suffer from anxiety or panic attacks then I suggest you rethink driving up the auto road. The weather can change drastically and you may find yourself in the rain, with major fog, poor visibility, and faced with a possible accident. Read about the fatalities associated with Mount Washington before you go. Some of them involve a heart attack. So please be careful. You would think with all the money they're pulling in from the auto road fee, they would make the road/ride safe. It's a major irresponsibility to have a narrow road with no guard rails. By now, this should have been completed to secure the safety of tourists.

We highly recommend this tour. Our friend who was driving couldn’t have enjoyed Mt Washington if he had to drive. Also, if you are not used to driving in the mountains, it could be a scary experience. Our tour driver was so nice and very entertaining. We had a great time.

This is a must do, well worth the price. Road is challenging, but if you have been behind the wheel few years, it shouldn't be a problem.
It's a fantastic view up there, we were lucky enough to reach the top on a clear day. There is a train that goes up too, but we didn't take it, if you don't feel like driving. Even the smaller cars make it to the top. There are places to pull off along the way to take a breath and appreciate the view. They are helpful specially on the way down so you don't overheat your breaks.

We drove into Gorham, NH and decided to try to drive to the Summit at the last minute mid afternoon. I drove up and my husband drove down. It was scarier going up especially when giant pickup trucks were coming the other way hogging the road and you were on the outside. (Think Going to the Sun Road in Glacier NP). The summit looked like a space outpost with just rocks around. It was sunny, the wind was calm and it was 72 degrees. Yeah! It was totally worth our time to do and to explore up top. Know the road down is a 12% grade. Luckily our car has a sport mode which we were able to use on the way down to avoid using our brakes. We watched the cog wheel train come up which was packed on a Sunday.
