This is one of the most historic statehouses in New England. The legislature has been meeting here continuously since it was built in the early 1800s. Famous for its "Hall of Flags" featuring historic flags. Open to the public without any security hassles, including the...More

I stopped in to tour the state house when I had some extra time on a visit to Concord. Very worthwhile if you are a history buff. New Hampshire has it's own quirks to government with a 400 seat house of representatives. Most of the...More

I did not realize that this was the oldest state house in which the legislature still occupies its original chambers! We loved viewing the historical flags cased in glass inside the main floor. While viewing the Battles listed under each flag you can feel a...More

I stop by for lunch here and there, good food, but I prefer table service. And I'd prefer not to hear liberals discussing their agendas while I'm eating.

We enjoyed our visit to this small but historic Capitol. Be sure to take the guided tour to appreciate the unique history and unusual aspects of New Hampshire governance and politics. We found metered street parking directly in front of the capitol.

We took a guided tour and found our guide to be excellent. He was knowledgeable about the history of the building, the contents and the law making bodies of the state. Unfortunately, we could not see the senate chambers because of a remodel. It’s rather...More

New Hampshire is such a gem for history buffs all around but this may be the epicenter. Unlike any other state house, maybe because NH has the most state reps of any state by far, this is a must-see for everyone who appreciates origins.
