The entrance to the tour was a whole lot better than the tour itself. It was very interesting though. You might want to go if you're there.

My wife and I were visiting downtown Reno for a few days (aka gambling) and my sister who lives near San Francisco drove out to meet us on a Friday. We were looking for an unusual adventure and wanted to see something of local sites/history....More

This was very interesting and a lot of fun. A very knowledgeable guide takes small groups into an actual horizontal shaft silver mine about 300 feet into the hillside behind the Ponderosa Saloon. It was a working mine, though not one that produced much. Lots...More

Our guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. The tour was long enough so we felt we got our moneys worth but not too long. Our group of 5 were the only ones present when we went. Lots of history here!

We were pleasantly surprised by the man who gave the tour. He was funny and interesting. The tour only lasts something like 25 minutes, but it's enough time to see various parts of the mine, and learn about what it was like to work there....More

A terrific tour into the mine in the back of the Ponderosa Saloon - Easy to get too, lots of fun and fascinating facts. Pick up a discount ticket at the Visitor center a few steps down the street. Don't miss it!

This was an interesting and well done mine tour. It wasn't long but you did get a lot of information. If you are tall you can wear a hard hat but it is not required. At one point in the tour they do turn off...More
