I had a free day in Las Vegas and looked at all of the possible activities there. Then it occurred to me to look at how far area 51, the black mailbox, the alien research center, and the alien inn were from the strip -...More

We were heading from Mesquite to Reno after visiting several national parks and decided to go this direction because we prefer the road less traveled. We had no idea 375 was the "Extraterrestrial Highway" until we saw the sign. We had a good chuckle about...More

The extraterrestrial highway landscape is beautiful. The desert and mountains, free roaming cattle. Make sure your gas tank is full. Did not see any aliens 👽 So glad we went, have wanted to for years. Eat at Ale’Inn in Rachel and go to Area 51....More

It is a long drive to get here from Vegas. We stopped for the obligatory photo of the ET highway sign (around Hiko), shopped at the Alien Research Center gift shop, drove down the gravel road to the back gates of Area 51, saw a...More

Given the proximity to Area 51/Groom Lake to the south, anyone who is an alien/ET enthusiast must take a drive on the Extraterrestrial Highway and stop off to see the Black Mailbox (now just a stump). Be prepared for a LOT of driving to get...More

Long road full of ever changing view, funny that. Never seen a UFO bit seen lots and lots of military aircraft performing maneuvers. This is the road to travel for the UFO buff just to say "Been There".

Gorgeous views. It was great weather when I went and I was driving a brand new rental truck, so it might feel too remote/unsafe in something less reliable (like my regular vehicle back home). Many opportunities to stop and take photos in the middle of...More

The sign is about 1 hour and 40 minutes. Go all the way out to Rachel, NV too. It’s not a bad drive!
