I full-on expected a boring, desert drive and that's not what we got. Granted, in some areas, this is the case, but there are lots of mountain scenery to go through and the drive was a ton of fun.
My sister and I went "all...More
This highway is like any other in the desert of Nevada. What you get on this highway though is a sign to get a photo of even though there is hundreds of stickers on it. This road is the closet you can get to Area...More
Great scenery, beautiful road! Plenty of ET Highway signs, unfortunately they have all been marked up and pasted over with stickers so you can't even read some of them, wish people would be more respectful. But great place to hang out for a day or...More
Well there isn’t a great deal see, but I can say “I’ve been there”
We stopped at The Little Alein for a burger and coffee then returned to the luxury of Las Vegas. We visited in 2005, but the drop down doesn’t go back that...More
Let me begin by saying if you stick to the highway (375) you aren’t going to see any of Area 51 or Groom Lake. That was fine by me, as I didn’t fancy an encounter with the Men In Black (or maybe I did, but...More
I've always wanted to go around Area 51, not for the alien thing, I'm just fascinated on how top secret it is so my excitement went through the roof when I saw the Extraterrestrial Highway sign in Hiko.
It is over run with stickers by...More

You are in the middle of the High Nevada Desert, with not much habitation around and near sensitive military and defence research installations, so I don't think RV campsites are exactly encouraged on the I375 Extraterrestrial Highway. That said, at Rachel at the Little A'Le'Inn, their web site says "FREE "BOONDOCKING RV" in a safe environment! " They have accommodation there, as well as food and drink. Then right at the southern end of the highway at Crystal Springs where it meets the I93 and turns into the "Great Basin Highway" towards Las Vegas, there is the Crystal Springs (or ET Highway) Rest Area. This is where the famous 'Extraterrestrial' sign is, where everybody leaves a sticker on it as a memento. It is large enough to turn around an RV, but doubt if it has any plug in facilities for electricity or water.
