Great short hike. I would go again again. Put this on your list and enjoy. It’s just a short drive and you may need to take a bottle water with you.

While this hike was slightly underwhelming in the winter (the falls were frozen and a bit anti-climactic after a moderately challenging hike), I am still giving it five stars for it's views and intensity level. We parked on the side of the road and found...More

My wife, grown daughter and I visited Lake Tahoe in mid September. Checking reviews, I saw this trail is rated easy with great views. I am in my 60s with bad feet and knees but I am halfway in shape. That said, I would rate...More

You get to see 2 lakes: cascade lake and Lake Tahoe from end point. It’s beautiful view up there. I would rate the hike as medium and you get to stand near waterfalls and peep from the top

Next on our agenda the day after Kiva Beach with Sage and the SUP was hiking. Winding road up and the last parking spot, and we were excited to begin walking. We stopped and took lots of pictures, amazed at the beauty. Somehow at one...More

I arrived just before sunrise on Sunday, September 10th. The trailhead parking has about 50 spots and 48 were full. There is no parking fee, so it appears that Desolation Wilderness backpackers favor this lot. I suppose that one could park near the highway and...More

The trail to the falls is a little rocky in places, but generally easy. In several ares there are views over Cascade Lake and surrounding hills. The falls themselves were somewhat disappointing despite adequate water flow. The problem is that the trail leads to the...More

I've noticed the reviews for this hike are all over the board as far as difficulty goes so here is the situation: we are a family of 4 with a 6 year old and a 3 year old. We are from Colorado so we are...More

We had gone to Taylor Creek Visitor Center the day before and the park ranger recommended the Cascade Falls Trail. Last year we did the hike to Eagle Lake which we felt was really gorgeous. We enjoyed Cascade Falls but it was really hot and...More

Cascade Falls Trail is always top of lists when looking for outdoor activities in Tahoe, and for good reason. The parking can be a little tight on the weekend but worth the search. The trail itself is well maintained. Most of it is kind of...More
