- Johnny GEnvigado, Colombia997 contributionsColorful Artistic Sculptures…This has become a place to visit…not much there so I really wouldn’t go out of my way to visit. However, it’s not a waste of time…you’ll spend about 20 minutes there and we were able to take shots without people in the shots just by moving around and looking for a good angle. It’s very nice and artistic…good thing is that it’s only about 25 minutes south of Vegas. Free parking and no cost to access.Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 1, 2023
- Reign68Rancho Cucamonga, California591 contributionsColorful stone art workOn our way back to California , we decided to make a stopover to this place. It was worthy and FREE. It’s a little walking distance not back. Just be careful a lot of rocks. The colorful stone arts were pleasing to the eyes. I am mesmerized knowing Asan art stone in the middle of the desert . Gives me the illusion of dry land and an oasis in the center. Advice make a stop and treasure the momentVisited November 2023Traveled with familyWritten November 20, 2023
- Deanna Troy TravelsBoston, Massachusetts26 contributionsFree Fun for Everyone! The Seven Magic Mountains are an art exhibit in the middle of the desert! Only 20 minutes outside of Las Vegas! This attraction is free, has no time limits, is open all day AND there is ample parking! Plus there are no stairs or hills, it's all on flat ground and it's a small venue, making it very accessible for anyone who wants to visit. I would highly recommend it! You can see more of what it's like at this place in a video I made called "A budget friendly sober weekend in Las Vegas" on YT channel "Deanna Troy Travels"Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten December 21, 2023
- Stefanie HLincoln, Nebraska1,745 contributionsNice visitThis place isn't far from the Strip, and it has a big free parking lot. If you want photos with no one in them, you need to come first thing in the morning; otherwise, there are a lot of visitors. This is a nice spot to spend a little time away from the busyness of Vegas.Visited December 2023Traveled with familyWritten February 6, 2024
- John_BurdisMaidstone, United Kingdom243 contributionsA simple idea, glorious in it's final formHaving looked at things to visit on our road trip, this popped up on the outskirts of Las Vegas and after reading multiple reviews, I thought, why not have a look! First off, if you approach from the south, you come off at Jean and you run parallel to the 15 for 5 miles to the location. It's free parking and free entry, where there are two information boards all about the art installation. There were people coming and going all the time we were there but I did manage to get the fabled photo with no-one in shot! To me it's a simple idea that looks brilliant in the flesh but of course, someone has to come up with the simple idea first. We wandered around the site, enjoying the bright colours, which changed as the sun hid behind clouds. The shadows cast were interesting and I can only imagine what they looked like at different times of the day. We were there for about half an hour enjoying the look and feel of the rocks before we left. The only tiny downside was the dog excrement left behind by some peoples pets but that was a minor gripe for an adult. Toddlers beware though! Would I go again, if I was traveling to Vegas again? I would definitely stop off again, to see how it looks at a different time of day!Visited February 2024Traveled with familyWritten March 6, 2024
- Chanel M8 contributionsPlus Size Friendly - if you take Uber, ask your driver to wait for you if possibleAs a fat traveler, and one without a car while in town, I was anxious about a few things for this attraction - how hard and long was the walk from the parking lot to the stones and if I got an Uber there, could I get one back since it’s in the middle of the dessert. The walk is so so easy, gravel path, probably less than 500 feet from the parking lot. And with the Uber, we ended up asking our driver to stay for thirty minutes and we gave him extra extra tip for this because we weren’t sure how easy it would be to get an Uber back since these stones seem to be in the middle of nowhere. Our driver didn’t speak English but we just used Google translate and he was wonderful and waited. If you are looking for Instagram spots, this is one that I think is worth it to get there but the Uber was not cheap - about 35-45 each way without tips so if you think ahead it may be better to get a rental car.Visited March 2024Traveled with friendsWritten March 20, 2024
- NathanPortsmouth, United Kingdom527 contributionsWorth a stop when Leaving Las VegasWas nice to not be on Interstate 15 to LA for a bit after getting out of Sin City. Also a chance to see something a little different. it is not spirtual or anyting WOW just quirky and worth a stop. Once done you are then not far to Terribles Road House in Jean. Huge services with a White Castle and any other supplies you need before heading west. Also there is a fake Welcome to Las Vegas sign that has no queue so a good spot for a snap if you missed the real one.Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 17, 2024
- Lauren RWynantskill, New York439 contributionsA pop of color!I came across these while I was planning our road trip through Utah and Arizona and we were flying in and out of Vegas. You feel like it takes forever to get there, but these are just so cool up close! They are massive! So colorful! There will be SO MANY PEOPLE!!! But, the good news it, you can use the rocks to your advantage and we had no problem getting photos with no one else in them! If you have time, stop out and see them, you'll most likely never see anything like this!Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 19, 2024
- Lucas DRosemead, California10 contributionsSeven Magic Mountains AdventureI went to the Seven Magic Mountains, this was one of our stops on the way to Las Vegas, after around 3 hours of me riding in the car and my mom and dad taking turns driving. I thought this was interesting, rocks stacked up and painted in colors. It is is a nice place to take a picture and explore, a lot of people go there, even some people try to make their own rocks, its a nice place to explore. There isn't really any bad sides of the Seven Magic Mountains. It is really nice.Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 20, 2024

Nice place to visit and have some fun and inspiration. Fun because walking around the art in the middle of the desert offers great views and is enjoyable. Inspiring in that what could have been a five year old's Play Doh creation is being visited by so many.

I have been wanting to do this for a while, but I never had transportation there. This time we rented a car so I wanted to make sure to take a trip there. It’s pretty cool and it’s free to do so if you have a car it’s worth the trip. The colors that are painted on the rocks are very vivid and the structures were stacked higher that I expected.

This was a quick and easy drive from airport and then back to The strip. We had rented a car for a day from the airport rental center to do this because I read it might be difficult to get Uber back to strip from this attraction. You can take an Uber to this attraction but you might have problems getting an Uber back to hotel. We went on Christmas Day thinking people would be at home spending time with their families. But no, everyone was out here taking pics like us! It was very crowded and hard to take pics without extra people in your photos. So we did spend maybe an hour trying to get the right photo and poses. Still a lot of fun if you’re into photos and selfies. I didn’t like how people were climbing the rock artwork to get their photos- very disrespectful. Anyways, we did manage to get some nice photos and my kids enjoyed it.

I am not sure what the hype is all about. They are bright colorful stacked rocks.
It is something worth stopping for if you are on your way to Vegas, but not as cool as Hoover Dam or some of the other attractions along the way.
Its trendy and therefore popular, however what you hear about is not what you get. Its overly hyped up and sadly this hype leaves you disappointed and wanting more.
One thing to note is the unpaved parking lot entry, when entering veer to the left, there is a substantial dip which will tear up your vehicle if its anything less than an SUV.
Whether the city or state should do something about this as I am sure I am not the only one who's vehicle has been damaged.
Its a short walk from parking to the display but pavement is uneven so take appropriate footwear and sunscreen. The rocks themselves provide little shade and everyone is scrambling to get out of the heat to take photos so unless you're there super early trying to get a solo shot without someone else in it is a bit difficult.
It is nice that this is a free public art piece, sadly Trip Advisor does not offer less than an hour for recommended length of visit, you can truly do this in less time it will take you to walk from your car in the parking area car and back, that is unless you absolutely LOVE rocks.

Pretty stupid but worth the price of admission. It's free to see. The person who made this thing had a free afternoon and a bunch of paint left from a project and decided to go into the desert and paint a bunch of rocks, then stack them.

If you love oddball roadside art then you must take a few minutes of your time and take a look. Don't forget this is selfie heaven with lots of people here to take their photo op. I call this artwork Chiclets because it reminds me of the small chewing gum that came in small packets and looked just like this.

On the way from Las Vegas to Los Angeles a must do stop at this strikingly colorful artwork “Seven Magic Mountains” in the middle of the desert.
The rocks, painted in fluorescent colors, resemble a kind of psychedelic Stonehenge in the Mojave Desert. A nice short photo stop and definitely worth a visit at approximately 11 miles from Las Vegas.

My husband and I visited the Seven Magic Mountains installation en route to Jean Roach Dry Lake Bed for a festival. This colorful installation is pretty and striking to see against the mountains of the desert behind it. When we went, it was filled with people taking photos. There was parking right on site. It was cool to see but probably not worth going out of your way for.

5 words - do it for the gram! This FREE outdoor art installation in Vegas is a must-visit for locals or travelers who need some fresh content for their insta, pinterest, YouTube or blog. You can easily practice social distancing too and yes, it is still open even during the pandemic. This family of four loved the concept but not so much the execution. The idea is neat: take some colorful modern art and juxtapose it against the starkness of the Nevada desert. But in actual practice, it was swarmed by a hoard of sight-seers and strewn with the trash and refuse you get with such large crowds. Parking was abundant but chaotic and the only bathroom was guarded greedily by the hot dog vendor by the gate. Definitely a skip unless you happen to be driving by.

Hi, is cell service strong enough where we can call for an Uber/Lyft from Seven Magic Mountains?
Written April 3, 2021
It’s pretty much right beside interstate barely out of town. I didn’t really look down at my phone but I’m pretty sure you’re safe. Usually a short stay there anyway.

Is this open 24 hours everyday? Including holidays like Christmas?
Written December 16, 2020
Says their "preferred hours" are sunrise to sunset but they're a bunch of colored rocks on public land with a parking lot. I don't think anyone is going to stop you from going anytime.

Written May 14, 2019

Is the transition from the road to the dirt parking lot steep? i.e. can I bring a Lamborghini

Is this worth going to? Wanting honest answers
Written September 3, 2018
I had seen it a bunch of times from the freeway & the only reason I went out there was because my 14 year old grand daughter & her friend wanted to get their picture by the colorful rocks. They were pleased with the photo op but it is a boring 35 mile drive for someone whow lives in Vegas.

Como puedo llegar si no tengo auto. Hay algun lugar cercano que tenga internet para pedir lift o uber?
Written May 26, 2018
Its a little far to get there without car. its just built in the desert next to the road. But they said they will take it down now in May 2018 as a part of a 2year artwork

Do people bring painted rocks? We're taking a few as well.
Written August 25, 2017
No not really, but it wouldn't hurt there are plenty of rocks out there some colored ones might brighten the desert up :)
