Had a company event here and it went great. About 20 very fit bikers went mountain bike riding some over 20 miles. Great picnic areas. Wonderful 2 mile walk around the lake, mostly flat. Wonderful day made possible by this fantastic park.

Nice relaxing trail to start out with. We heard a bear growl at us from further in the woods, just letting us know he was there i guess :)

One of our favorite locations to take visitors for an easy hike. Takes about an hour to walk around Spooner Lake. Although it is somewhat protected from the winds off Lake Tahoe, it can still be quite brisk. Hiked the trail today (June 10th) and...More

I was here in early May and there was still a decent amount of snow. It's a nice walk and the area is beautiful. Worth seeing.

Spooner Lake is an easy shoreline walk. When we visited in early November, it was on a bright and sunny day; the lake was filled with all sorts of migrating birds. Bring cash for the fee based parking lot. Bathroom facility near parking lot. Very...More

Well maintained trails lead to a lake that is home to bears, deer, water foul and fish. Majestic pines line your way. Facilities are available for picnicking, cookouts and family time.
