Interesting place with a very eclectic collection of Americana from household items, area history and geology to ice age artifacts. Not fancy but very interesting collection both indoors and out. Glad so much of it has survived to show the everyday items used in an...More

The White Pine Museum has a lot of interesting exhibits. When you walk outside behind the museum they have some old machinery, washing machines, and they have a few outer buildings as well. My favorite building was the station masters house. I enjoy old kitchen...More

Right across from the Ely cemetery this was a nice little museum. Ely has a lot mining history and this place has a great exhibit of that history. The woman there was very friendly and helpful.

Stopped by the small museum and had a great time looking at the exhibits. Also, I had a great time talking with Laura, one of the curators, who is of Shoshone indian decent. 3 dollar donation is required but worth it.

I found the museum very interseting because I saw things there before I was even born. And if you had any second thought abought the cowboy days this is a must see..

We enjoyed the wide slection of historic items: medical machines and supplies, geology, furniture, personal items, train depot, cabin and the 20,000-year old skeleton of a short-faced cave bear. Very low entrace fee.

Stop gambling for an hour and check this museum out-lots of oddities, especially medical instruments of the late 1800s and early 1900s. Good history of the surrounding area, too.

We visited on a whim and were very pleased with the museum. Lots of local history about people that lived in Ely and the industry of the area. Really liked seeing all the old equipment around the grounds. Out back there is a old train...More

Lots of "collectibles" fill the main building, but for me the best part was in the back with an original depot. The front rooms were for travelers to wait and the rear quarters for the family. School children raised the $$ to have it move...More

This is a standard, underfunded but well loved country history museum. It has the usual collection of odd artifacts arranged with little thematic or contextual information beyond a label. But the history of the area is fascinating and the director is helpful. If you like...More
