People complain about driving I-80 through Nevada. A visit to this museum will put it in a whole new perspective as you gain insight into what it was like for settlers to traverse this terrain on foot. Definitely worth a visit. The museum is well...More
This was an awesome spot to stop on our way to Elko. Very engaging dioramas and hands on materials to explore. Unfortunately one of the big features was out of service, but would definitely recommend- worth the stop and admission is free!
Stopped here to see the exhibits inside and out. They have outside exhibits for certain days or just look at the statuse at the entrance. Very welldone to present history of this era.
Great rainy day stop for inside.
We spent an entire day at the center on a weekend when they had special programs going on continuously.
The building looks new, the exhibits and displays are world class, and the BLM workers and volunteers knowledgable, helpful and polite.

A lovely museum, much more sophisticated than you might think given its location. The exhibits are realistic and interesting. The museum is large enough to be a destination. Do go. You won't regret it.
Have voted twice in the last three years. Excellent design and exhibits. Recommend for all ages. If one has any interest in the westward movement, it would a shame to pass this wonderful exhibit by - and it is free.
