This is a state operated recreational area. It has many nice campsites, lots of beach and good ramps to put your boat in the lake. It has a unique lighthouse. the camping rates are quite reasonable.

Besides being an excellent location for camping, it has a good variety of fish waiting to be caught. The Spring and early Summer offer great jigging opportunities among the trees when the water is high. Many people go out before Friday night to pick and...More

Lake Minatare offers great camping next to beautiful Lake. We parked our Travel Trailer 20 feet from lake and it was surrounded by many shade trees. Restrooms were clean and everyone was friendly. To bad I live on oppisite side of state

We loved going to 'the lake' and camping/boating/skiing throughout the summer. It's an irrigation lake so the later during the summer, the lower the water level. I was pleased to find out they'd updated/restored the Lake Minatare 'mock' lighthouse, one of only seven inland lighthouses...More

we live near Lake Minatare but still choose to go camping there frequently. There are a lot of cement camping pads with electric hookups, some are reservable, some are first come first serve.

This lake is out a bit from town, though well worth the short drive. It is like a world of it's own. Trees, shore and scenic drive. Great fishing, boating and camping.

We have never stayed here but our kids have. We had a good time watching others play and relax by the lake.

We didn't spend much time here, just drove through the park to find the lighthouse. We did climb to the top of the 55 ft. lighthouse. Loved the view. It was built by a Veteran's Conservation Corps in 1937-1939. The park does offer camping and...More

After you've seen Scotts Bluff Monument and the North Platte River, be sure to visit Lake Minatare. You will need to buy a park pass. This lovely large lake is about 20 minutes from Scottsbluff. Divided by a peninsula, you can view the entire lake...More
