Stopped in the late afternoon on a Saturday when spending the night in Lincoln. Google gave me the wrong directions on a gravel road, but it was still easy to find. The area was really crowded and it was difficult finding parking. I was on the east side of the lake and the first area I stopped at seemed to have some trashy questionable people there giving me stink eye. I then moved further south by the boat ramp. Found a place to park and the people seemed more friendly over there. People were fishing and swimming. Very pretty lake.

We camped here for 2 nights while traveling through the state. Beautiful lake. Grass and trees. Gravel pad/parking. We were able to get level. All water view sites in our loop. Here during the week and park was almost empty. Water to site; pressure was good. Electric is on a pedestal and there are 2 boxes, so you have a camper kind of close if the park is busy. No problems with internet. Went into the town to do laundry at The Laundry Place. Super clean and convenient. Dump stations available. Drop box for money is at the fence post by the boat dock. Appears to be fcfs. $15.00 for w&e. Would definitely go back again.

We stayed at Pawnee for 7 days. The campground sites are clean, level, and wide and come equipped with a fire ring and picnic table. Lots to do. Beautiful area. The bathroom facilities however, are almost unusable due to their lack of cleanliness. The bathroom is poorly lit, filthy and the shower curtains are filled with mold. The shower walls were also not clean. This is true for the men's and women's area. It is unfortunate because the park itself is beautiful. Not sure if we'll return to camp for longer than 2 days.

Was rather annoyed by the mean man who was cleaning the restrooms. I greeted him good morning and he grunted at me like he was annoyed. And then after having a great weekend we were very rudely informed that our generator ( which is very quiet) had the whole lake "up in arms" Then he stormed off. Lovely lake and very peaceful out there. Just be weary of grouchy old jerks that go on power trips and act like petty tyrants

Stayed a couple of days and nights at this site in an RV which was a welcome surprise. Driving in from the highway the farms on either side of the rural roads where gorgeous. Our site had nicely manicured grass all around it and we had a view of the Pawnee Lake. There was a picnic table and grill on our site and water close by. The facilities were clean. Hiking trails were set up through prairie grass areas which were very quaint. Lincoln was not very far away if you need to get into the city area. I would highly recommend this spot, although off the highway a bit, it is well worth being off the beaten path.

The campground at Pawnee Lake State Rec Area is called Lakeview, where some sites are reservable and some are not. A reservable site, however, can be camped in for one night if there is no one in it. Because of this we were able to get a spot all by ourselves in the middle of a beautiful and secluded loop near the lake. In the morning there were enormous fish jumping out of the water to catch insects. A peaceful and serene place to visit.

The lake is not that beautiful, but there is a very nice campground, called Lakeview Campground. It has sites with electric and sites without. Some sites can be reserved and it is very busy on weekends.

A bit small fore skiing, decent fishing and nice picnic areas. The nicest closest larger boating lake to Lincoln. Water is decent for the region but certainly wouldn't call it clear. White Bass, Catfish, Walleye, Carp....

good swimming hole great boating and water ski nice beach area.I enjoy the swimming mostly water ski is great, too. I live with in a 30 min drive to this place, so easy to get to. so far it has been well kept up. no life guard so swim at your own risk. you will need a Nebraska games and park permit to enter.

Nebraska has some handy campgrounds that are easily accessed when driving across the state. We needed a place for the night and pulled in here. We were there in early October, so that even on a Saturday night, it was fairly deserted. (Except where the larger RVs were.) Seems to be a pretty area, from our quick walkabout the next morning. Quiet and tidy with flat, paved sites. I will note that the bathrooms (both here and at another state park) seem very outdated and poorly constructed, given the amount of traffic I'm guessing that they receive. The pit toilets were in decent shape, but they might want to invest in improvements to the main bathrooms.

As the rude park maintenance man informed us generators are not allowed...I've searched several websites trying to find posted rules concerning this.

Not sure if generators are permitted. We were camped where there was an electric hookup for our travel trailer site.
