I came across this place by accident driving though town. Great for train lovers and local history buffs. I enjoyed my walk though and it's only $5. They also had a small section upstairs on movies made in Montana.

It was closed when we were there but we walked around the outside. It is a very beautiful building, lots of detailed architecture.

Wow, I am not much of a history buff, but the displays there really let you know how things were back in the day, and how Montana, and the USA for that matter came together through lots of hard work and strong-willed people. It really...More

The exhibits were fascinating in that they show what a vital, thriving town Livingston was, with a quite large working population. It makes one wonder about what progress has wrought. The museum encapsulates a lost era, not least with men and women all dressed up...More

The displays are very informative and interesting. Great videos throughout the displays. Tons of local information and items. Great little gift shop. This was actually our 2nd visit to this museum and it was as interesting as the first time.

Lots of memorabilia about the building of the rail road to Livingston and the opening of the Yellowstone National Park. You really get an appreciation of just how tough it was for those pioneer men and women. Upstairs a collection of posters and photos about...More

As a kid I would take the train from MN to Livingston every summer and stopped at this depot. They have done an excellent job creating this museum to the RR past. Worth a visit.
