A great 5 mile round trip hike into a lake with dazzling scenery. The trail is marked well, you would have to work at getting lost. A great place for families. There are a few uphill stretches that will push your aerobic system, just take...More

I visited after several days of heavy snow. A helpful guy at the start of the trail said I should be ok in my hiking boots the first mile because the snow would be packed that far, and he was right. I'm 60 years old,...More

Stopped here on a short hike this past summer. The drive back to the hike is beautiful and the scenic views make it so worth it!

Other than one amazing vista point along the way (you'll know it when you see it) It's otherwise a fairly unremarkable first couple miles. I'm a bit surprised that this out and back hike (6.6 miles rt, 1500 ft elevation gain) in the Gallatin National...More

I like to give these transparent fat person reviews because it tells you the REAL REAL. I'm currently 5'8 and 260lbs and work out 4-5x a week to give a frame of reference. Short review: It's long, its hard, it took me about 5 hours...More

Wow! Just so beautiful. We had nearly a foot of snow doing this hike. Yes it was strenuous but worth it. Trails were not all that clearly marked. Did not make it to the lake because snow was starting to get heavy. Highly recommend because...More

Our family took this trail for about an hour and half the 2nd day I arrived. While they had acclimated, I found this hike beautiful but tiring and didn't complete it. It was gorgeous in August with about 20 different varieties of flowers that we...More

This was an amazing hike, but darn near killed us! When we looked this hike up it said "moderate". Well, that's for the lower part...it's definitely strenuous! And for folks like us, from Florida where it doesn't get any closer to sea level, the altitude...More

Perfect afternoon hike for our family of two young boys (6 and 8). A few steep inclines, but mostly walkable. Stunning scenery the entire route. Take a picnic and enjoy the view!

It's open year round. If it's snowed by then you won't get as far back in there unless you take good boots. We hiked it back in mid June this year and there was still mushy snow by the lake so we couldn't get back there with... More
