We stopped at Ksamil on our way from Gjirokaster for a short lunch break. We just couldn't believe how beautiful the place was, so instead of just having lunch, we got into our swimsuits and jumped into the water. This must be one of the...More

Ksalim is a beautiful village near by Saranda in Albania. Clear blue water, friendly people and quiet hotels. Taxi from Saranda to Ksalim costs only 15 euros.

We did not believe it will look so good as on the pictures, but this is reality! White, sandy beach and beautiful islands you can reach by swimming. Mid may the place was completely empty.

I'm just obsessed with Albania and Ksamil added to that. Being able to swim between the islands was a really cool experience that I throughly enjoyed! The water was warm, the sunset over the islands was incredible and it was not too crowded.

We rented a clear canoe for about $10 per hour and paddled out to a couple of different islands. Great views of Greece and we found some solitude without much effort. Had a great dinner right on the water as well.
