Forgot about this hidden gem of and NRA museum. Very well done display of sporting arms throughout the history of our nation. Nice little diversion while shopping at Bass Pro Granddaddy of them all Store.

I could have spent hours looking through and reading about the beautifully curated exhibit of firearms. If you visit Bass Pro Shops in Springfield, be sure to set aside some time for this.

There are sooooo many guns full of interesting history all tucked away in this well-appointed museum. The employees are very friendly & knowledgeable. This diversion was well worth our time. You can't beat the price of admission - it's free!

I asked one of the employees about specific weapons ( 50 cal Hawken rifle and a Colts Dragoon pistol ). He took me to their locations and provided history. Very helpful.
