Dickerson Park Zoo is where people and animals connect. Enjoy getting outside and enjoying the natural beauty of the area while seeing and learning about animals from Africa, Tropical Asia, South America, Australia and North America. See the reptiles at the Ambler Diversity of Life center, ride the Titus Express miniature train, get up close and personal with the giraffes on the giraffe deck (giraffe feeding an additional fee but observation deck is free) and visit the petting zoo. Cafe and gift shop also available.

Second time visiting this zoo. The kids enjoyed the exhibits. But we were a little upset to find the splash pad covered in peacock poop. It is a major attraction for the kids especially on a hot day. While I do understand it would be...More

The free-roaming peacocks are a big hit with our guests, but true they do leave behind a lot of poo. It's also often impossible to get to our offices in the morning without navigating a maze left by these beautiful birds. While our maintenance staff...More

Note: We work in veterinary medicine and have been to over 35 Zoos and Aquarium so, we are wicked picky. That being said, this Zoo is in my top 3 ( with Seattle, WA and Gainsville, TX) on natural habitat beauty. You don't even feel...More

Based on the mixed reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised! Considering Springfield is not a major metropolitan area, this zoo is very nice. Honestly, I'd take it over the KC zoo. We went on a hot...More

We've been to a lot of zoos with our kids - both big and small. This one wasn't amazing. When we went, it was $14/adult to get in, which is really expensive for the smaller size. We did get to see several animals up close,...More
