With the mission "to ignite and sustain lifelong science and technology learning", the Saint Louis Science Center is one of the top five science centers in the United States, and has been named one of the Top 10 Science Centers for Families by Parents Magazine and one of America's most visited museums by Forbes Traveler Magazine. The complex includes over 96,000 sq-ft of interactive science-technology exhibits that are part of the Science Center's free general admission. The most recent major permanent exhibit is GROW, a one-acre outdoor exhibit that will take visitors on a journey of food, to gain a deeper understanding of our food supply. The Science Center's ticketed areas include the OMNIMAX, a four-story IMAX Dome theater; the James S. McDonnell Planetarium, one of the world's largest planetariums; and the Discovery Room, an activity area for families with younger children.

We truly enjoyed this exhibit. Very informative, lots of information about Apollo 11 and NASA.... An amazing bit was that from the time Charles Lindbergh did his record breaking flight across the ocean to Neil Armstrong's walk on the moon was only 40 years!! What...More

Our visit here was very short because we squeezed it in between other attractions, but it was still fun. Lots of hands on activities to explore that were good for many ages. Of course there are things you can pay extra for, but considering the...More

This was one of the best Science Centers or Museums I have ever seen. There is so much for young kids to do, see, and learn about. They have so many different educational locations in the Center to go too. Like the Discovery Room for...More

Lots of hands on and a large mix of activities. The free admission can be deceiving though, the additional cost activities can add up fast. We spent more here than any other destination on our vacation but we did more here. We saw an IMAX...More

Visited with my 10 year old nephew who enjoyed the visit so much that he went a second time. Plenty of hands-on exhibits for him. But I also found the visit very interesting.

As with most free attractions, come early to avoid crowds. But there is still plenty to do here and keep the kiddos entertained. The temporary Apollo exhibit was particularly fascinating, with the actual capsule on display!

Went there with my grand daughters.... and they enjoyed the event. Not as much hands on as other museums of that type.

We enjoyed our visit but would probably be better for younger children. The omnimax Pandas movie was amazing and we really enjoyed the planetarium show.

Various science projects with details as to how science works. The solar power exhibit was very informative for our 9 year old and how and why earth quakes happen.
