Just returned from an afternoon at evenly Wood Garden, it was our first visit and we will probably be back soon. Lovely woodland with lots to keep little explorers busy. We went specifically for the Easter trail, which if I'm honest felt poor value for money given it was five pounds more than the normal childs entry and except for the little bag of sweets at the end had no Easter theming at all. We had a coffee and cake in the cafe which was good and fairly priced, lots of outside seating which was good. …

No signage which makes. A ovation without a map difficult! No child’s proper play area. Forest school area in need of repair and upgrades. Disappointed no ice sold in the shop which upset the children! Gardens are large with lovely walks and flowers to see.

Ours was a return visit to view the autumn colours and we were not disappointed. The map we were given pointed out the best places to head for and that would be useful for people who do not want to walk too far. There is a lot of woodland here and it was a cold day, so we could plan our route easily. The log cabin cafe was open with a very inviting and welcome wood burner and we enjoyed our drinks next to that. Having eaten earlier we did not want food, but the menu looked inviting with a range of hot snacks. Obviously being woodland and after the heavy rain, you need stout footwear and people with pushchairs etc may find the going a bit soft. As I said, people who do not want to walk far may find it too demanding- but they could be quite happy in the log cabin near the fire! When we were there, there was a couple of ladies who were in close private conversation all the time over their coffees and probably had not been round the woods at all.…
