I went on a date with my partner to escape hunt and did the young wizard quest. Naya was the girl who briefed us, she was bubbly and made some jokes and got us hype for the game.
We had a great time, the challenge was fun and hard, definitely will be back for more !

We did an advanced level escape room (Spy Mission) and managed to complete with five minutes remaining. A few good twists and turns along the way to keep us thinking on our toes. We played with three people which worked great. Must admit we needed a hint a couple of times.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Would return again for round two!

I was really looking forward to this - booked a baby sitter - booked online and paid upfront. I kept it a secret from my wife to suprise her.. arrived just on time and discovered that they had sold our session to someone else because they had arrived earlier than us.
We were very confused when asked if we could wait to a new opening in 1 hour. Since we only had a baby sitter for 2 hours we didn't have that opportunity. We don't get these opportunities to get out much so was very disappointing and we left feeling very confused as to how this happened - they said they tried to call us to tell us they had sold our session but there was no missed calls on my phone and they had the correct phone number.
Strange way of doing business. We heard some great reports from a similar business in Canington called Mystic Clue in Canington, Perth - so we will have to try over there next time we get the opportunity.
We did not get our money back - so doing a Paypal chargeback - It truly was a strange experience. If you enjoy being double booked or wasting a day at the escape Hunt - make sure you visit these guys.

I just did an outdoor game using Groupon 120 for 6 ppl offer. I am a fan of Escape game but this experience is very disappointing. We choose the outdoor game thinking we will be trapped in something like a garden. The game ended up a low quality treasure hunt using an iPad.
The outdoor game needed you to run around the city A LOT. As the game description was just “outdoor” and didn’t tell us that we have to walk a lot like they described for another outdoor game, i brought my 60s parents and 70s aunt there. They dropped out some time after they started the game as there are too much walking (there were NO warnings in the game description and staff had not suggest anything else when they see our elderlies arrived).
We emailed them and demanded compensation, but instead of offering us a 6 person game, they only offered a 2 person free game, which is not a compensation of our lost.
This is a very disappointing escape experience I ever have.

Thanks for the review it is appreciated. We are sorry that you did not enjoy your experience. Our website is very clear on the experience you were enjoying. We find it a little strange that you thought it did not involve walking. The experience is billed as “outside” and termed “treasure hunt”
The walk is approximately 1.8km in one and a half hours. We have had no issues with elderly people completing the hunt and have had great feedback. Once you knew that it was not what you expected, we are surprised that you didn’t return to our office, but instead completed the full 1.5 hours and when you came back said you had a good time.
Your email to us “demanded” a new game. This is the first time we have ever had a “demand” of a free game, this is the reason we only offered a two person game. We’re sorry that our offer of a free game wasn’t enough for you.

I did the cruise ship puzzle with four friends and it was the perfect number, enough to find lots of things at once without getting in each other's way too much, all while working together. The scene was great fun, I love lateral thinking puzzles and was pleased to find that I still managed to get stuck on some things that others found easier and vice versa. It's really the group effort that makes this such a different experience and keeps things exciting.
The friendly and mysterious guidance of Game Master Anna provided gentle mind bumpers against which we could bounce, circle and meander our way to discovery. Nothing so easy as a giveaway, but somehow she always kept us moving. There's no time to get distracted and anyway, the distractions are likely extra clues you need!
When she told us five minutes left I thought we wouldn't make it but somehow we got out at 3min 48s with some very intense and frantic detective roleplay. And then we put capes and pipes on and who doesn't enjoy shenanigans?
I'm going to book again. If you like the sound of it then you absolutely should, it will be as fun as you hope. Mind bumpers and roleplay, I tell you!

First time doing an Escape Room type experience so had no idea what to expect. Good communication from booking until arrival, all very clear where to go and what time to be there. Young man on staff very polite and helpful and explained everything clearly. We did the Black Jacks Treasure room ,and despite this being a beginner room, we were a bit slow to put things together so required some help. Staff member helpful, giving hints that allowed us to solve things without him doing it for us. Took us a while but we finally found the treasure and had a great time trying to figure it all out. Will work on the problem solving skills and come back and try the next room. Would certainly recommend it.

Left this place feeling as if I've been robbed. Bought the experience through Groupon, yet even at that price as opposed to the ludicrous $152 it wasn't worth the money. Especially when you add on the joke surcharge fee of $25 for going on a weekend (it was far from busy). Stuck inside a little room with peeling wallpaper and sticky tape around the doorways. One of the boxes didn't open when you 'solved' the clue through dodgy wiring. The clues were so random that you only really solved them through luck. We were all far from impressed and cannot see how they justify the fee for what is something not too dissimilar to what you could set up in your spare room. Would not be doing this experience again. On a side note, the toilets were very unpleasant. The tap moved on the sink in the female toilet, the male urinal was out of order. Chairs and boxes piled up nearby, felt like going to the toilets in some dodgy takeaway.

Hi Gabser2015,
Thanks for the review. We value all reviews good and bad as it gives us the opportunity to improve. I must admit we were a little suprprised by the bad review especially as we have had 98% positive reviews in the past and had only 6 poor reviews with the last one being over 6 months ago. We understand that you have high standards as attested by your 10 TA reviews of which 9 are average, poor or terrible. We are dissapointed that we did not meet these standards. I will review each of your points in detail.
We believe our pricing is fair. For the money you pay you get a one hour game, a complimentary soft drink, a photo opportunity using period props and costumes. The whole experience takes 1.5 hours and most people have a ball. We have had 367 positive reviews out of 375 in the four years we have been open and had approximately 120,000 visitors.
We do understand that Escape Rooms are not for everyone as they can be tricky and frustrating (which they are designed to be).
The weekend surcharge is in place because we have waiting lists at the weekend as we are normally booked out.
It is a testament to our staff that even when we are mad busy you as a customer felt that the venue wasn't busy. I will thank the staff for this.
The decor in the rooms is inpsected daily and also in more depth weekly and any issues are fixed. You must bear in mind each room has over 800 people a month going through it, so a little temporary wear and tear can be expected but corrected quickly.
The clues are tricky and some thought is needed but the vast majority of people manage to think their way through them and to be honest no one can escape our rooms "through luck".
Each room costs 10's of thousands of dollars to set up, not really something " you could set up in your spare room", but once again it is a compliment that the "Behind the scenes" workings are so well hidden it looks like a normal room.
The toilets are inspected and cleaned every hour. We have inspected the taps and they seem to be fine. The male urinal has not been needed for the four years we have been operating and has been quarantined. There is a fully functional and very clean cubicle that is used by our male customers. We do apologise if you felt that you really needed to use a urinal. The entrance to the toilets is in a corridor we use for storage. The items stored do not impinge on the entrance to the toilets in any way and are stored tidily.
Apologies for the long reply but the management and staff are so proud of our business and what we offer, that we take negative reviews seriously and try to reply honestly and objectively. Please email us anytime should you wish to add anything to your review.
Kind Regards
EH

I didn't know much about escape rooms but my friend and I thought we'd give it a go. So glad we did, because it was a lot of fun! Looking for clues and unlocking secret compartments was a challenge we really enjoyed. Tessa was helpful when we needed it (a couple of times...) without having us feel stupid! Came out with huge smiles and enjoyed having a laugh and dressing up for selfies after the quest. If you haven't done this before, I highly recommend it.

We love good feedback almost as much as we love positive feedback about our wonderful staff. Tessa is our longest serving Game Master and we also think she is great! Thank you for your lovely words :)

Hi Kat,
We are happy you liked the games, often older kids or adults get more out of the puzzles. We have a different room - the cafe that suits children a bit better. Send us an email if you are in the area again and we can cater for the children.
Thank you

The website implied that the attraction was open on public holidays, but it seemed very shut when we visited today. What are your opening hours during public holidays?

I've had a booking before and when I arrived, the door was locked. I think the staff do that for safety if they aren't expecting people to come. Escape Hunt Perth are very much geared towards pre-bookings rather than walk-ins (from memory, they have a surcharge for walk-in bookings, too).
