This is an interesting park reserve of lawns and trees in suburban Perth. It is high on a hill, so it has views out across the river and towards the city, but I did find it hard taking a good photo of the distant city through the foliage. There is plenty of space here for picnics, and good facilities for children. At centre are the old buildings of a previous sanitarium, now housing a restaurant and café. There is car parking set aside, although my guess is that parking might be difficult at popular times. Paths are sealed and there is wheelchair access. This is a lovely place to visit.

This is one of the best playgrounds around especially when you take its prime location into consideration. Situated on a hill it has magnificent views to the river as well as fantastic play equipment for small kids.
I find that the older kids usually make their way down to the river bank below to have more grown up fun. The area has a large grassed area where families can picnic and watch their kids or even join in the fun.
I used to come here regularly many years ago and it was always well maintained. Due to our children being too old now we only just visited it again, recently. It still appears well maintained looks the same as we rembered it. Other peoples children and families are still enjoying the equipment and what the park has to offer.

Heathcote Reserve is a very popular spot for a picnic, especially during the summer holidays. Most picnicers bring a rug. It pays to get there early. You may get a good view over the Swan River. By the way, parking may be difficult to find if came late.

Beautiful childrens park with stunning views over the water. Children have such a lot of choice in the playgrounds , from a pirate ship to swings & slides, all set in a sandy setting. Suitable for both younger and older kids. Barbeques available for picnics, all in all something for everyone. All set in beautiful grounds , with lookouts , and lots of history regarding the origins of the site. On-site cafe was closed when we visited but looked very nice. A gem of a day out ! Good car park.

We took a visitor to our state for morning coffee on a Saturday morning.
It is a wonderful location but badly let down by the very ordinary service we received from the cafe.
Such a disappointment. Certainly won’t be taking anyone else.

The total renovation has been completed now for several years, and is a great place for family get togethers on a nice day.pleanty of activities for the children to play on, if just to grab a coffee or something to eat. Great views and lovely location.

Awesome spot for families but let down badly by the poor cafe. We got there at 10am and couldn’t even get a coffee. So disappointing

Came here few times, the views over Swan river are pretty good. This is a good place for small and primary school children with a great playground. Schools often come here for day trips.
