This wet market is located a stone's throw from Kek Lok Si Temple. The asam laksa across the road from the market is ever popular with long queues. There is a stall selling nice curry laksa in the food court within the market.

this is literally a wet market! not for tourist. locals are actually doing their regular fish mongering and selling them here. though this became famous because one of the celebrity chefs ate the fish soup from one of the sidewalk vendors.

This is essentially a suburban market, and is therefore not so touristy. This is where the famous Ayer Itam Assam Laksa can be found. It was quite tasty although I am not a fan of sour-spicy dishes. This stall's assam laksa is more towards the...More

We came to Air Itam chasing the Assam Laksa. We found the Laksa and will review it in its own listing (it was great). Afterwards we walked around the market. The highlight for us was definitely the small food court in which we found a...More

Busy and congested ...one could barely move either by own vehicles...by walking...by public transport. By the roadside stalls of different varities..for wear...to eat...while shops offers daily neccessities. Nearby stood the largest buddhist temple..KEK LOK SI in South East Asia..well known to the locals as well...More

Very unique to see such a sprawling maze of local vendors. Something for everyone, especially the hungry or thirsty. Can be congested, but that's part of the charm. Great place to go when visiting the Kek Lok Si temple.

Laksa in the market. The one and only, smells good and taste good too! The only issue is parking, there's no parking and limited seats.

Mainly hawkers food serving at a reasonable prices. The hygiene is a problem as the place is dark and you still can see rats running around.
