The park is excellent for viewing ship traffic, up and down bound on the St. Mary's River. The ships pass very close to the shore here.

If you're into freighter watching, this is the place to go (other than the Soo Locks, of course!). Bring a lawn chair, a picnic and your camera for a great spot for watching the behemoth Great Lakes Freighters as the go upbound and downbound.

Sit in your car or on the grass and watch magnificent lake freighters pass only yards away. If you're lucky, they'll give you a salute on their horn.

Good place to watch the big boats go by. There was an area for 16 years and younger to fish. You can easily bike to it from town.

Absolutely!. The water on the river side is pretty deep and has a strong current, so feel free to fish from the shore or the pier on the landward side of the island. Don't forget to have your fishing license. Enjoy!
