Ocqueoc Falls (pronounced Ah-kee-ahk) is a wonderful place. It's not your typical waterfall, more like a series of rapids similar to the lower falls at Tahquamenon. Unlike at Tahquamenon, however, you can still get down into the water and splash around the rocks. Kids will...More

Stayed @ the UAW center on our way to the UP and visited Ocqueoc Falls in the evening. The grand kids were a bit young to enjoy swimming in the falls, but they will go next time when they are older. There were kids and...More

These falls were beautiful and worth a trip to see!! My kids loved it and it was very easy to get to. My kids wore tennis shoes in the water just to help with the slippery rocks and comfort of walking the falls!! Great day!!...More

We visited a decade ago and it was just a gravel parking lot, a footpath to the falls, and all the locals in lawn chairs. What a change! Now it's got a nice big paved parking lot with decent vault toilets, a paved walkway to...More

Hadn't been here and wanted to check it out since it's the only waterfall in the lower peninsula. The DNR has built a huge parking lot, paths and a picnic area so it's well maintained. I've seen so many wonderful waterfalls on the UP so...More

I loved the falls. They were easily accessible and very picturesque. A great place for a family outing on a warm day. wading and swimming is encouraged but I would recommend some kind of water shoe.

The only waterfalls in Michigan's Lower Peninsula may not compare to what the U.P. has to offer (especially Tahquamenon), but they're certainly worth a visit. The site is well-maintained and the falls photo-worthy. And surprisingly, apparently you're allowed to wade into them! (Wasn't expecting that!)...More

I think the falls would be too rough for a three year old in a kayak. The water is quite fast moving and rocky. You would be better off to go to one of the beaches on Grand Lake or Lake Huron. There is a sandy beach with... More

My parents own a house near there, and if you want to talk about renting, contact me, but I have never camped in that area.
