This 12th century medieval castle, one of the best-preserved in Vendée, has well weathered along the centuries well and managed to retain all its charm. Today, the castle contains a museum inside the keep.

This castle affords great 360degree views from the top of the ramparts. It is in good condition so you can explore thoroughly inside and out. It is quite small so does not take long, but you may want to linger over the museum displays which...More

The castle is good attraction, takes you 30-40 min to walk through. Nicely restored, but don't expect more than it is, a castle. Cultural stop in a sunny island.

If you manage to get in the castle in spite of its rather strange opening hours, it is well worth the small admission charge. The man on the admission desk gave us a leaflet which translated the information displays to English. The museum element of...More

Gorgeous castle steeped in history from the last 1200 years. If you are in search of culture while here then a visit here is a must. Great views from the top too.
