Like many of the Amir Timur statues throughout Uzbekistan, this one is very popular with locals, and particularly wedding parties.

The statue is yet another big statue, done reasonably well. What is great though, is the Uzbekistan tradition that has developed for couples getting married to circle the statue slowly in full wedding clothes, pareticularly as the brides have a penchant for Disney princess wedding...More

The statue is in a recently built park. The greenery and flowers are nice. There are reflecting pools on two sides.

The statue is like Amir Timur himself is very impressive. Very well placed standing so that the White Palace poses as the backdrop to a wonderful image. You cannot help like everyone else to have your photo taken here. Don't miss this when visiting Shakhrisabz.

The statue of Timur is large and impressive. But what makes this especially interesting is the Ak Saray (White Palace) in the background. This makes for a great photo op!

The Father of Uzbekistan is appropriately displayed in the eponymously named park in the usual fashion: tall, muscular, and in motion. At this point in my travels I had seen two other statues of Timur (on a horse in Tashkent and on a throne in...More
