4th visit here, completed my Tec 50. Great dive centre. Very experienced and professional dive instructors and guides; tuition and training first rate. Great support provided by the boat team and gas blenders who worked tirelessly behind the scenes. Subic bay is home to a wide variety of wrecks for divers of all levels of experience. Thank you again.

First time dive visit to Subic area, did some research and found this dive company. They state this shop is the only 5 star PADI IDC in Subic. So I’d give it shot. First email to company was handled promptly from Shaun and he answered any questions I had quickly. Booking the dive was a easy process. At the shop, the usual paperwork and verification was done properly and safely. Pre-dive set up by the Filipino dive crew was spot on, such as checking our Nitrox tanks and equipment prior to loading on the speed boat. Amie, one of the Filipina dive masters, came around and spoke to the divers and made sure everyone was ok and checked. I felt assured that this was a safe place to dive and no short cuts were taken to jeopardize our dives. Along for the dives was Jamie, this guy has a wealth of information. Very experienced, many stories and experiences to share. Made sure our dives were enjoyable. But it’s the Filipino crew behind the scenes that made my stay great. Washing down our equipment, locating a missing GoPro, forgot a bootie; an extra one on the boat. It made my 3 day dive awesome! Many divers were taking classes here; so it seems it’s reputation should be good if they have returning divers come back. If you are looking for a dive shop, don’t hesitate to come here. When I’m back, I’ll be looking to book here again!

This dive shop is amazingly friendly! From the security guard to the guide masters and to the people around. I dove with Julian who was so friendly and accommodating! He was concerned about my safety on my first dive as I experienced anxiety and difficulty descending. He made sure I feel safe and comfortable in the water, again. Even underwater, he kept on checking on me. We talked a lot about my life in UK and his life living in Subic. Shaun and his wife were very accommodating too even if I did pay late in the afternoon.
I highly recommend this dive shop. Totally safe and conservative master divers.
I'm definitely coming back.

What a great group/shop! From communications with Shaun, to checking in, to diving. The dive masters all have thousands of dives and are so on top of things, interested in safety while enjoying your dives, and knowledgeable about the dives in the area (and surrounding area/countries) it is amazing.
I am a recently certified open water diver. I asked for and got my own dive master as I hoped to enjoy my dives and learn more from the dive master. Mike (retired USN corpsman) was the best! Unlike my prior dive masters here in the Philippines, he was focused on safety and making sure I was doing things right while still making sure I had an amazing experience.
I did wrecks at 18 meters and less, but they were fun and interesting. My time with Mike made me want to dive more while making sure the dive masters live up to their obligations/responsibilities.

I have dove with Arizona Dive Shop on many occasions since my fist trip to Subic in 2013. As I am finishing up my 2019 visit here to Subic Bay, I thought this would be a great time to update my previous review.
Arizona has been consistently a very good shop to dive with, and one I recommend to friends visiting Subic. The shop has been consistently good, and especially in the last 5 years, as a returning visitor, I have witnessed a continuous improvement to the operation. Each year I come back something has been done to improve the operation. In some cases it is small things, better outdoor showers, healthier snacks on the boat, or bigger, such as expanding into a new space to provide better classroom facilities. The staff, from instructors and guides to boat crew and office staff are excellent. The operation has also expanded their capabilities, and can service just about any diving need from snorkelers to Tech and rebreather divers.
As an instructor, having watched their staff interact with students and divers, I would easily send my family here to take a course or dive.

Arizona Dive Shop is the place to go when diving Subic Bay. Located on the beach so no travelling to get to the boats. Accommodation is basic with my room a little 'Chick-apow-wow' if you know what I mean :-) But- they are clean and do the job.
I would say that there are two main attractions of Arizona that make surface intervals a pleasure. one being the ever cheerful and very helpful staff and the other being the restaurant food.
Diving was 'OK' due to poor viz but we can't blame the dive shop for that. Dive team were professional and knowledgeable, with safety first and foremost. Good to see that they have purchased new gear and they were also able to find some items fr me (Hose and Suunto Transmitter battery) quickly and at a reasonable price.
All in all a good week and I would not hesitate in recommending the Arizona Dive Shop to anyone heading out to Subic Bay.
Thank you to all at Arizona for a memorable dive holiday, hope to see you all again soon.

The Arizona Dive Centre is an extremely well run and professional dive operation. I have owned several dive centers and it was a pleasure to be in the company of very knowledge and dedicated instructors led by Course Director Jamie. My daughter completed her EFR, Nitrox Diver and PADI Rescue Diver courses there. The quality of instruction and attention to detail was superb. I made several pleasure dives on some very historic wrecks Mike the Dive Guide was exceptional and made the dives even more memorable. The back of house staff, the boat crews, the office crew, the equipment techs were all extremely helpful nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended

We did 8 dives over 3 days and were blown away by the quality of the dives, the support from the staff and the well-run operation. Well worth a trip and will definitely return, thank you very much.

Arizona Dive is by far the most competent and experienced dive centre for tech diving in Subic.
I had great support when diving the deeper wrecks of the bay with my CCR.
The guys there did an excellent job: I was able to get any trimix mix I wanted, bail out tanks and on board tanks are like new and perfectly maintained, plenty of sorb available...
Also the guiding on those amazing wrecks has been spot on, I have been taken to amazing areas of some wrecks which I would have never been able to get to otherwise, always following the best safety standards!
I can't wait to be back and have more of those amazing underwater adventures with you guys!!

That all depends on how many dives you do, but the cost is comparable to anyway in the Philippines, which is known as one of the more affordable locations for quality diving. But when it comes to wreck diving this has to be one of the most cheapest options in the world. Plus food and accommodation in subic is good value

I am an open water diver and planning to visit Subic Bay.
I wonder if there's only wreck diving? are there many fish or other sea creatures too? *I'm not sure if I wanna take the wreck diving course since I will only be there for 3 days.
Thanks

I'm not really sure, because I only did 6 dives, and they were all wrecks. I don't think there's much 'reef diving' there.
Having said that, I would strongly recommend you experience wreck diving - it's a new & different experience, and Arizona will take good care of you.

Can you be a first time Scuba diver?

You can do a Discover Scuba to try it out on if you are on the fence. I did my Open Water and Advanced Open Water with Shaun Notley as my instructor at Arizona Dive Shop. It was great, I showed up with zero experience and had a great time and left with 12 dives in my dive log. The instructors and crew are great.

I stayed in the Arizona Resort when I visited Olongapo in February ... my room was right next door to the dive-shop. VERY convenient for me. And the rest of the resort is convenient as well -- yes, a good restaurant, and not one bar but three (including the Floating Bar a hundred meters or so off the beach - it's a nice place to hang out during the late afternoon, and enjoy a few brewskis.)
And oh yes, as Mark says, their dive boat is GREAT!
