It is wonderful to see a statue made of saligrama of Lord Rama, Lakshmana and Sita. You have a separate hanuman temple in the premises.

This temple situated very near to Punnai Nallur Marriamman temple ( about 7 KMs avay from Thanjavur) Ramar,Lakshman, Sitha, and the Anjaneyar statues made out Saligrama Stone. This temple also comes under the Thanjavur Aranmanai Administration

It is rare to see a statute sculpted in Saligram stone (available in Nepal) and not in usual stone we are accustomed to. The temple is 360+ years old and does not look it. The idols of Rama, Sita, Lakshmana and Sugreeva (not anjaneya) are...More
