Within the Mahabodhi complx , this is one of the SEVEN important places where BUDDHA preached Dharma. He preached that it is through GOOD DEEDS that one attains MOKSHA and not by birth alone.

To be able to appreciate the place, knowing the events happening around Buddha's enlightenment is important. To visit also Pragbodhi and Sujata Temple and the story will link these places.

This is located within Mahabodhi Temple complex, The site has pilgrims offering thier prayers and as far as history is concerned the tree was planted to protect Buddha during his sermons.

Denoted by a pillar, this is located in the Mahabodhi temple complex. followers sit around it for meditation.According to legend, this tree was planted by a young shepherd boy to protect Buddha, who shared his knowledge on the equality of humankind.

It's one of the attraction inside mahabodhi temple. So it should be just treated as one attraction with Bodhi tree, mahabodhi temple, the lake, etc.

According to the pictures here, this is the historical place where BUddha received the milk gruel of Sujata...just before he sat down to meditate in ernest. The images denoted the offerings by Sujata and one is BUrmese style and the other is Indian style.. Next...More

The place gives you a lot information about the life of Lord Buddha. Nice place !! close to Mahabodhi Temple complex.

ajapala nigrodha tree is very famous but when i visited i didn't found any things new about it .surrounding is very polluted need to clean what to say more ........

Nice to visit the place but beggars are all around and they troubled you asking for money. Other wise good place to visit to get the idea of Lord Buddha's life
