What a neat place. Very short walk to get to the spring. We could see many smaller fish just hanging out along the shallow edge. We went closer to the raft and were very happy to see that the self-operated viewing raft was available for us to use. We weren’t sure that it would be, due to COVID. But we were able to use the raft to go out in the middle. Oh boy, the fish that we saw while in the middle. So many large trout just hanging out. The water is so clear that you could see all the way down to the bottom where the sand was swirling around. The raft is on some type of a pulley system which allows you to go out and observe. Such a neat idea. I’m very happy that we went a little out of our way to check this place out.

This is one of the places if you are in Michigan's Upper Peninsula you need to make a point to visit, you will not regret the decision..from the trail leading to the raft to the self navigated trip across the springs and the depth and beauty of a natural phenomenon. It is clear all the way down you can actually see the sand at the bottom swirl with water inlet power and the trout that are immense but state protected are amazing to see it is serene and beautiful 😍

It's cool to see the super clear green/blue water and large fish, but I would not go out of my way for this stop. State park passport required for entry. If yoiu don't already have one, DON'T pay to go here.

During the fall season we make our way up to this spot every year. Most years it is a joy (get there early). The water color is amazing, seeing the fish and the gallons of water bubbling up from the floor of the spring is actually quite something as well. This year there was a problem with the people who took the little ferry boat to the middle taking a VERY long time to return. People were leaving the line to board next it was so very bad. I don't know what the answer is for other's rudeness, but I hope one can be found.
