A very informative, compact fort. Very well maintained. People on site in period uniforms who give short presentations and short tours. A place for kids to dress in period clothing and learn about life of the children who lived at the fort. In one building,...More

If you are interested in history of the island, make sure you don't miss the fort. Lots of buildings with info on signage or folks to help explain things. Some demos too.

The fort has many buildings with narrative placards and/or reinactors to explain. There is a musket firing demonstration.

The long walk up the steep incline is well worth it. The history is everywhere in the fort. Tour all of the buildings and try to imagine what it would have been like to be stationed here. The views are incredible. don't miss it !!

Hello, Mackinac Island is serviced by two ferry companies - Shepler's Mackinac Island Ferry and Star Line Mackinac Island Ferry. I would recommend heading to the website of either company for more information. Thank you!
