$10/adult. Free parking. They offer guided Tours @ 10:30a & 2p, no additional charge. They DO offer discounted pricing for a large range of people (correction officers, veterans, seniors, etc). I would call them if you think you may qualify for a discount, or check...More

For those of us who love a good crime show, this is a great experience. You can almost feel the history as you walk through. A little pricey but I felt like it was worth it to see something I would have never had an...More

Grew up in Brooklyn, MI in the 1950's about 20 miles south of this attraction. The "Cooper Street U" reference came from my parents and teachers who stated if I didn't shape up the only college I would attend would be "Cooper Street U" which...More

We got there the same time as a bus did. And got to listen to the stories from the guided tours. Did not think going into this that it would be so FASCINATING. 3 movies were filmed there. (Go there and find out which ones)...More

Our tour guide Daniel did a great job. Lots of history in there. Cell block 7 felt like there were inmates in there yesterday, its been 10 years it has been vacant. The rest of the prison still houses over 5000 prisoners.

Very interesting experience, exciting (it's on an active state prison grounds), informational and fun thing to do. We took the free guided tour first, which helped warm us up to what we were seeing. Then we explored the rest of it on our own at...More

We took the guided tour that lasted about 30 minutes and then spent another 90 minutes looking at exhibits in more detail. There is no additional charge for the guided tour, but they are only available at 10:30 and 2:00. It is worth a visit...More

Touring Cell Block 7 was the 2nd part of a guided tour that we took. This tour of a modern cell block was down-right emotional and eye-opening. Being able to enter an actual prison cell, see and hear groups of cells being opened and closed,...More

There are places to sit in the cell block area. I saw a wheelchair where we bought our tickets.

There are some cells you can walk into, but the doors themselves do not slide open/closed. The cell is either locked or the door is open, but unmovable.
