Windmill Island Gardens is home to de Zwaan windmill, the last mill allowed to be transported from the Netherlands. de Zwaan still functions by grinding locally-grown grain into flour that is sold to visitors and local businesses. A highlight of visiting is a tour of this historic working windmill. Visitors can enjoy music from our antique Dutch street organ given to the City of Holland by the City of Amsterdam after World War II. Children can also ride on our antique carousel from the Netherlands. There are several other replica Dutch buildings and shops. The Island is home to beautiful gardens which feature tulips in the spring followed by beautiful annuals and perennials throughout the summer. Please note that the Island is open seasonally, April 14 - October 7, 2018. Last tickets sold at 5 pm.

This is a must do if visiting Holland. The Windmill was more beautiful than I thought and the grounds were filled with gorgeous flowers. The $10.00 was worth a one time visit. It does include a tour through the Windmill. As the tour started, my...More

Pretty gardens. The surrounding area is so nice. Holland, Michigan is great place to visit. Make sure to find the “lookout area” in the parking lot.

I was surprisingly pleased with this place. My original thought was that it wasn't going to be super fun since we had visited Keukenof in the Netherlands previously. But I really enjoyed it. The tour of the windmill was very informative and interesting and the...More

The money hungry people that run this place are just greedy , charge a man in a wheel chair $10.00 and can't go in any attractions :(

Much nicer than I remember it in the 1990's. Listened to the organ demonstration, took the windmill tour, and met the miller! Stopped by the Friesian horses in the paddock and browsed through the shops.

I don't remember seeing anything on the sign that says that and there is nothing on the website. I'd give them a call since you are local.

Get there early, Holland City did add a parking structure, not that far away. (There is also some parking on the grounds)
