I love the GRAM and try to visit a couple times a year. My wife hates it and says it the most boring place in Grand Rapids. Try to visit when they have something special on display that you like, i.e. Andy Warhol.

Went to see our granddaughters display. The museum was kind enough to offer discounted entry for family. We took the steps and were a little unsure which way to go, but didn't get far before we knew we went the wrong way. Nice display of...More

This is a modern and attractive exhibit space for permanent and temporary art shows. It is in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids and definitely worth a visit.

Maybe I was spoiled by a visit to the Smithsonian just a few weeks earlier, but this museum offers some striking art but more so just mildly interesting and not so inspiring.

There was an excellent sports photography installation. The permanent collection on display was small but well curated. Tours are available but we went through the museum on our own. While we enjoyed this museum, we would recommend the Public museum or the Gerald R Ford...More

Check their website for free days. During the summer they have outdoor concerts with free museum entry those evenings. It is a nice place to bring out of town guests.

I visited the GRAM right before and during ArtPrize 2018. The permanent collection on the third floor was only so-so with nothing stellar standing out. The 2018 ArtPrize submissions were not as well done as the ones in 2017 at this venue, when I also...More

Hi! In the United States, lots of students do not get much art education as part of their regular curriculum. So, knowing such basics as not touching the art unless it expressly says it's okay is not second nature to many... More
