About
Morley Candy Makers is the place where Sanders chocolates and desserts are created. Our free factory tour is perfect for all ages, and can be customized to fit your group's needs. Our facility is also handicap accessible. Each tour includes a video, a guided walk down our observation hallway to see candy makers at work, free chocolate samples and a stop in our fun newly remodeled Sanders Chocolate & Ice Cream Shoppe. The first Sanders store opened on June 17, 1875. By the 40's and 50's Sanders products and stores became woven into the traditions of Detroit families. Going to Sanders for a Sundae during a downtown trip, blowing out birthday candles on a Sanders cake and sharing laughs over a bowl of ice cream covered in Sanders Hot Fudge became the standard. Today, there are 9 Sanders shoppes and our products are shipped throughout the world via our website. Guided tours require an appointment and the schedule varies based on production so please call or email for times.

My family visited the Morley Candy and Sanders in Clinton Township. This is where the candies are made and they also have a nice candy shop. We love Sanders chocolates, and we were excited to see their selection. We were disappointed to learn they are now only making small jars of the dessert toppings, but we still love their other candies. We enjoyed our visit.

We made the 30 minute drive outside of downtown Detroit to visit the Sanders factory & shop...we were so delighted! The facility is beautiful, all the way down to the wood & vintage tiled bathrooms...there's a nice selection of bagged and individual candies available to purchase and ice cream seemed to be the big draw, which some of us delighted in. But the best part was getting to see the caramel production line, it's a pretty basic process now that someone's worked out all the details, but it was so fascinating and we were thrilled to see these were the caramels we buy at Costco!

BTW, buy your caramels at Costco, not the shop...they're about 25% of the price at Costco! yikes!

I’m preparing a yarn package for a knitting friend from Texas. I went in for milk chocolate covered potato chips, but the package was way too big and expensive to include. (Sanders might want to consider a candy bar size again??) I had to settle for wrapped chocolate snowmen.

Too bad I mentioned the chips to all the people participating in the swap. She was looking forward to trying this Michigan treat.

The Sanders shop is opened and is Covid-19 ready. Plenty of seating outside and social distancing is easily done. They offer many items of candy and chocolate to choose from. Lots of homemade candy and cookies, shakes and much more.

It is strongly recommended to call ahead for tour information! Even while visiting the candy shop a short time before one tour began, it was very annoying to have to call for a place on that tour. An informative video is played before the tour begins. There is also a miniature museum with some artifacts from chocolate manufacturing.

This walking tour travels along glass windows that offer views of a production facility for chocolate and other candy treats. Three stops are made during the tour, with a guide giving narratives. The candy is shipped all over the United States of America. A sample of the candy is given at the inception and at the conclusion of the tour.

I grew up eating Sanders hot fudge and Morley candy. As I walked in, the aroma of chocolatey goodness was amazing. They carry an awesome selection of chocolates including sugar free chocolate (thank you). The customer service was great. They have tours, but we didn’t have a chance to do that. Will definitely be back when we are in town. Love this place and their chocolate.

Great, informative tour. Loved the rich chocolate aroma as soon as we stepped inside the door, so the free chocolate sample was appreciated.

A very quaint little factory with self tours as well as guided tours! I tried booking same day however guided tours were not available. We were able to still view the chocolate factory and the candy making areas ourselves! We sampled the most delicious chocolate and treated the kids to some very good ice cream! It was a treat!

By going to the store on M59 or Hall Road you get to watch how the candy 🍭 is made. Then get ice creams that is so good 😊 you will want more. What a good place so go when the kids get on your nerves or just out for a drive and enjoy the Sanders Topping.
